I was told very specifically that Elon buying Twitter is a direct threat to our democracy.

Those aren't my words. Those were the words spoken by politicians and members of the media.

But now they're celebrating Twitter suing Elon so that he buys them?

They’re fricked regardless is the thing. What I hope happens in the end is that Twitter sues him, Elon wins anyway, and then he buys them for like $8 billion and skyrockets the stock again while firing everyone who remains from the tanking that is coming.

Trust me, today is a day to celebrate. I assure you it’s pure animal panic inside Twitter right now.

Oh I'm certain of it.

If he does end up buying Twitter, I'll be buying stock 3-4 days after. I have no doubt media, politicians, etc. will carpet bomb us with negative news with the intent to tank the stocks as much as possible....but it'll go back up eventually.

No way was he paying full price. He knew it was bots ahead of time. They're fricked.

Good luck with that because the deal is Musk buys all of the shares and privatizes the company.

I'll be honest in that I'm a pretty tall drink deep already and kinda forgot about that.

Welcome to the mind of a leftist

They’ve taken a break from declaring victory in Ukraine to celebrate this “victory” over Elon.

Delaware is the state of incorporation for many large companies.

Many small ones too.
Over 50% of publicly traded companies are Delaware companies, and over 90% of IPOs are.

There are more companies than people in Delaware. And it’s not just public companies and corporations; many LLCs and LPs are Delaware based.
quote:

First, the Delaware Court of Chancery (established in 1792) allows companies to resolve disputes quickly with a judge rather than a jury. Judges for the Court of Chancery specialize in corporate law, draw on hundreds of years of legal precedent, and hear only business-related cases. Second, Delaware’s tax system gives businesses several ways to legally minimize their tax bills. Companies that are incorporated in Delaware but do business in other states don’t have to pay state corporate income tax to Delaware. Some groups accuse Delaware of being a tax haven because the “Delaware loophole” allows companies to declare certain types of revenue in Delaware rather than in the state where the business actually occurred. Delaware also doesn’t tax profits on royalty payments, trademarks, or copyrights. Third, Delaware’s laws and policies make it easy for businesses to incorporate, avoid liability, and retain privacy. Delaware’s Department of State makes it convenient for businesses to fill out incorporation paperwork, which can be done in under an hour. Because they don’t have to give much personal identifying information, company officers who incorporate or set up business accounts in Delaware can also maintain privacy, ensure anonymity, and avoid personal liability.

Did you read the full filing? He goes into detail about Twitter lying and reducing his ability to query their databases.

Should there be sympathy?

He made an unsolicited offer to a company that didn’t want to sell.

It’s like someone shows up at your doorstep and says they want to buy your parents house. You immediately say no because you don’t want to move out of their basement. When your parents learn about the offer they force you to call the buyer and accept the offer…then he walks away because the roof seems worn out.

No, it's more like he walked because you told him the roof is good, but refused to let him go up there to look at it.

On Monday waking up to the stock market on Twitter, God that’s going to be a great day.

I think that’s a sin, but it’s one I’ll be committing.

Is that what it's like?

Is your house owned by shareholders?

Did the appraiser report the value of the house to the shareholders based on the house having an undamaged(or at least <5% damaged) roof?

Did you really think this analogy through?

Elon admitted to knowing "the roof" was bad. He even said one thing he was going to do was get rid of all "the roof"

I'm still saying Elon wants a public fight with the SEC and Twitter was public enough to afford him that fight.

He knew there were issues but he wanted the details of them which he’s not getting. Seems like they’re worse than anyone at Twitter wants to admit. It really devalues them if a large percentage of their users aren’t real. Ad revenue is partially based on that number.

He knew there was a problem, agrees to forego due diligence, then is shocked to find out there is a problem after he agrees to buy them with a known problem.

I don't believe Musk is dumb enough to not vet the company to know the truth before he gets very far. Or he is trying to frick with someone.

Youre exaggerating here. Twitter is still hiding how bad things really are even after it’s well known there’s an issue with bots. They want this deal to go through right? Right? Why are they making things so difficult? They’re capping and throttling queries on the databases by musks team. There’s only one reason you do that. Even though the person searching knows it’s not great, you’re still not letting him see all the details. And that’s his fault for finally saying enough is enough after multiple requests to change the APIs?

Let me state the minority position ( on this board):
This was an ego driven purchase and he offered too much.
He now wants out, and may pay a HUGE walk away penalty.
