What about somewhere like Perlis, I believe I read that they will do the alterations in house?

If you don't currently have a suit, then you obviously are not going to get a heck of a lot of use out of the one that you buy, so you don't need to spend a thousand dollars on one. My recommendation would be to go to the nearest Men's Warehouse, as they have typically been able to take care of me for unexpected funerals, etc. I would say that is your only hope on such short notice, so stop messing around and go there right now.
I have bought some pretty decent suits at reasonable prices from there.

No tailor's going to be able to turn around a suit in 4 days unless the changes are minor (e.g. sleeve length), so I hope you're a good fit off the rack.
In BR, as far as I know, you're basically stuck with department stores and Jos. A. Bank or Men's Wearhouse.
Otherwise, I'd say Suit Supply for a modern suit within your price range. Me personally, I fricking hate the fit of modern suit pants, so I went to Knot Standard and got a suit custom made for $800 with a vest. Fits wonderfully. But that won't help you in four days
ETA: Brooks Brothers will have some decent suits in your price range that will last and be in style forever. Just get it tailored after the wedding except your hem.

Try Macy's. They carry Calvin Klein suit separates, meaning you buy the pants and coat separately in your size, usually need minimum tailoring. And they're on sale now. Nice suits, I've got two of them, good quality.

I'm kind of leaning toward just not trying to rush a suit purchase for this wedding and take the time to get something pretty decent. What kind of options are there in the $500-1000 range without time constraints?

More money doesn't necessarily get you a better suit. Sometimes you're just paying for the name. If you don't wear a suit alot, save yourself alot of dough and do like I said. Get a decent designer suit and have it tailored to fit you perfectly.
Bitches don't know the difference between a $300 suit and a $1000 suit as long as it fits you well.
Spend the money you save on some nice shoes, shirt and tie.

So:
Go to every Goodwill/thrift store in BR until you find something close. Shouldn't be that hard, given your build. I'm 5'10", 135lbs so it sucks for me, but I always see dozens in your size. Inspect for obvious tears/flaws, and get something either "vintage" or reasonably new. Nothing 1982-1995ish.
Then throw a bit of extra money at a tailor to make it happen on the short turnaround.
Get a decent tie and pocket square, which will become the focus of people's attention and draw it away from the suit.
and
Plan better next time. I recommend Combatant Gentlemen. Great quality, reasonable price.

Go with a Jos Bank signature series suit, it's affordable and very sharp looking... I'm in a 44 slim off the rack, only the length needs hemming and I love them (have 5)

at Brooks Brothers.
I'd suggest to the OP at this late date to go get a nice blazer and throw that over some nice slacks.
His 6'2" 180 lbs. is going to be hard to find in an off-the-rack suit. Think 40L or 41L with the jacket taken in a bit and with the pant waist taken in two inches, probably a 32/34 on pants.

I'm 5'11" 195 and I wear a 41 jacket. Where do you get your estimation from for someone that is 180??

If you have some slacks just go buy a nice sport coat. Sam at Harpers or go see Frank McLavy or James at McLavy. Both have nice sport coats on the rack and will tailor it for you overnight. Then later go buy a suit. I own a few suits and I quit wearing them. I like sport coats and blazers and different slacks.

The real answer to this thread is Steinmart.
They sell everything separate and off the rack. You can try on different jackets and pants until they fit. And they look great. And they're very reasonably priced.

Go to Brooks Brothers. They wear like iron and should have enough slacks and jackets in the store to complete a decent looking suit.

Drive up to Alec and go to JL&Co
They'll treat you right and get you setup for Saturday.
