I have a semi-novel idea for you.
Have you ever used the app “VarageSale”? It’s similar to craigslist but its not sketchy because it isn’t anonymous. There are tons of classic Whirlpool/Maytag/Kenmore washer and dryer sets for sale in Nashville on it. I have bought and sold on it and its great. The interface is like Pinterest (I think owned by Pinterest) and its incredibly easy to use. Private messaging between buyer and sellers on the app is great too. You can filter down by categories, search for specifics in your area, etc.
I am on two varage sale pages, and four facebook pages selling used appliances and advertising services

we just bought this set. Seems to be good. Nice to do half the loads of laundry as our old set.

So you don't think that new one with the sink is a huge gimmick?
I actually think it's pretty neat, and from what I have seen from Samsung since the last model changes, it looks like the build quality has improved greatly. Though it's usually 2-3 years after they are bough that I first get to see them.

It doesn't seem to be anything risky from a design perspective that could cause more issues IMO.
Its just a basket with a hot water running into it.

Napolean what is your opinion of the bravos XL?
Posted on 6/24/15 at 10:11 am to TheCaterpillar
right, the only real issue I ever had with Samsung top loaders has been fixed.
The WA52J8700AP is brand new so it's hard to know what problems it has if any.
The parts sites I use don't even list parts for it yet. It'll be two years before we know what problems (if any) it has.
Samsung is very tight knit with their warranty stuff.

They are very similar to the Cabrio line 40% are great machines and 60% seem to be lemons. The bearing seems to fail on those quite often, causing a very pricey repair. Electronics are mostly good. For 2015 they redesigned the rotor and removed the Hull sensor (thing that always broke- RPM speed sensor) So they are probably better than my current opinion of them.

What is it like to know so much about washers and dryers?

Stick to Kenmore, Whirlpool or Maytag...not some electronics company turned washer/dryer maker...

Idk, Napoleon just said Samsung is a decent company with a solid warranty

Kenmore washers, Samsung washers. All made in China.
(kinda joking, but not really, all units now are controlled by multiple Chinese made computers. Samsung came into the game strong and is leagues better than GE or Frigidaire now and nipping at Whirlpool)

Napolean
I just moved into a new place this month and they have a washer/dryer combo LGWM3987HW front loader. It takes on average about 3-4 hours to dry anything. Any idea what could be causing this? I have had maintenance come twice and yesterday it still took 3 and a half hours to dry 2 towels and 2 washcloths and they were still damp when I took them out so we just hung them up.

I don't know. I wish I knew more about literature and mathematics and Biology, then I wouldn't have to know things about washers and dryers.

Washer dryer combos suck. A washer should never be all in one with a dryer in my opinion. First off your element is very tiny and very low amps, and puts off very little heat. They take on average 4-5 hours to dry what a normal dryer would dry in 45 minutes.
Can they verify that it does get heat? If so, I would check to make sure the ducting is clear.
You can never expect normal dryer performance out of a washer and dryer all in one.

quote:Yea, I agree. It just doesn't make sense to put that shite together. I know it is getting heat, I am unsure if it is the proper amount of heat but I plan to call them again today and see if anybody else ever complained.

Another slight hijack...
Kenmore dryer won't turn off. It goes into the "cool down" cycle, but it won't turn off. It spins and spins and spins. What could be up?
TIA!!

I just want an easy/no frills combo.
I have 2 great units but I just sold my house and the buyer added them into the contract. I obliged if that is what it would take to move the house.
Same exact position here. Thanks for this thread. Napoleon
