Bought a nice pair of aviator-style sunglasses yesterday at Dollar Tree for $1.00. If I lose them, I'll buy another pair.

Arnette. Break the mold baw and wear something cool whilst maintaining a black frame.

From a lens quality point of view, it's hard to beat a Maui Jim especially their Evolution or Brilliant lenses...their thin glass ones are good too, but you pay too much. Costas are good, but in my opinion if you are going to spend 170.00 + on good sunglasses get the Mauis. Revos are pretty good as well

Mirrored aviators.
or if you must do the wayfarer thing, Oakley Frogskins

Just go down to Lowes and get you some safety glasses.

Maui's have the best lenses I think. I burn through lots of sunglasses by breaking or losing them, so I've got experience with a lot of brands
I currently have Smiths and Revos. Love em both, but they're not Wayfarer style.

Never heard of these. They all have that silver clip where the glasses fold? Lol terrible
You have never heard of Persol?
If you have ever seen a picture of Sinatra, Dean or McQueen with sunglasses they were likely Persol.
As far as the "silver clip", no they do not all have them, especially the modern versions.
In the pic below Dean has a pair of Persol clip-ons on top of his Persol eye glasses .

RCI Optics
Maui Jim would be good also.
Costa, Oakley, ray ban, persol, arnette, smith, and almost all other brands that used to be decent have either sold out to luxottica or a similar big name or “value-engineered” themselves out of being decent optics.

Rio Ray. Their lenses are on par with Maui Jim and Costas and cost less. I have pairs of each brand and the polarization or the Rio Rays are equal or better than the Maui Jims

Get you some of them mufrickin RayBan Predators for when they come back in style.

I always, and I say again, always wear Maui Jims. Best glasses period. Fit and lenses

This would be the only thread he didn’t make the first page of, right?

My sunglasses cost $15 or less. It’s a matter of time before they get lost or damaged.
