Legend with the GFS showing 1-2 inches, the Euro showing .75-1.25 inches and the QPF showing 3-5 inches for south Louisiana what do you follow as a rule of thumb? QPF?

I would say the GFS and Euro are under playing the rain a little here. Very juicy atmosphere. Not saying you know a foot of rain lol. That cell south of Baton Rouge bet you would get 1-2 inches in a short amount of time just today

I was thinking the same thing with them under doing it because yesterday both models were showing multiple inches

Only one of those is an actual forecast, the QPF which is put out by forecasters at the WPC. I'd favor the actual forecast over models every time.
With these sloppy systems it can be hit or miss and vary greatly across a region. The WPC, with the Excessive Rainfall Outlook, tries to account for those variables.

The reason is we have a La Niña pattern, which reduces wind shear in the Atlantic basin.
But they are still saying the sea temperatures are out of this world hot.

Hopefully that verifies, most of the heavy rain stays off shore.

I saw 40+ numbers earlier. Is it safe to say that crazy arse number isn’t in play?

Y'all want to send some of that rain up to me?
We, unlike Rummy, really need it.

The 00z NAM bumps the totals up a bit. Keep in mind that this adds another 6 hours to the last run that I posted.

Anyone was in Biloxi this afternoon?
It was very squally and the rain kept coming.
I sought shelter at the Hard Rock and gambled my arse off all afternoon.
I could hear the thunder from outside over the loud music and ringing of the slot machines.
I finally gave up at 4:30 and went outside to the garage for my car. It was still very breezy and the rain was coming down. I left in the rain, some sections of 90 had water that collected on the road and made for slow going to head home.

Hope y'all are safe and that the fires are out soon.
Also...
I will gladly give you my 6" so you can rest easier.
