Not that this means anything for the rest of the year, but up to June 20, 2024 this year has seen less activity than any of the recent ones, even including Alberto.
And the Eastern Pacific is historically dead right now.

Would be a shame if there was terrible flooding of the Rio Grande that might impact those noble migrants

Is that a common occurance when shifting from El Nino to La Nina? I know that is caused by a cooler area in the Pacific but does that make it difficult for storms to form there? (In the colder areas).

I honestly don't know what the analogs look like for the EPac in a transitional Nino.

the fact that three areas of concern are being monitored in mid June is scary to think what August/Sept is going to bring
Not a good sign at all!
Calm your tits. A lopsided weak TS in June is no indication what will happen later in the season.

What is this little eye showing up on radar?

Only to drive up the storm count. That’s not a TS.

It literally is. Those have an objective definition.
The reason we get these name stealers isn't incorrectly giving out names. It's because satellites are a lot better and they're picking up storms we wouldn't have noticed 20 years ago.

You need the rain, not so much the baseballs.

That's a Flash Flood Emergency now with ongoing high water rescues along Rio Hondo. The warning has a catastrophic tag.
Monsoon season is starting off with a bang.

But is it dropping rain?
Posted on 6/19/24 at 6:39 pm to LegendInMyMind
From Corpus Christi this afternoon
Lots of rain that apparently soaks into parched ground. Runoff is managed well. Lots more rain is coming down and is forecasted to occur through the night
Storm tide is the problem, already causing local street closures. Having another day of tropical storm pushing tides is gonna hurt some folks. Looking at levels, we are only 12-18 inches below Hurricane Harvey
