Probably been covered but if you are even remotely worried about the 1,000 dollar swing on new tires for a 100,000 dollar car then you are absolutely doing it wrong.

Not looking for cheap tires. I want good quality tires (replacement) at the least cost.
look up the recommended tires online. Not just tire size, go to a Porsche or similar forum and see what people recommend.
Then search for them at Walmart.com. Seriously... they do an online thing like Amazon does. Will list a whole bunch of tires they don't carry in their stores. If you can find them listed there, have them sent to the Walmart of your choice, and have the lifetime mounting and balancing and road hazard added.
Why Walmart? Because there's about a thousand Walmarts in the country, and no matter where you drive, there's going be one within 15 miles if you ever need road hazard or balancing.

Not on a Cayenne.

Absolutely it is a staggered set, at least when you get to 21" and above rims and at least on the latest iteration (9Y0 2018.5 to present).
