if the teams do emerge and players kneel, officials could assess a 15-yard penalty
So if players on both teams kneel during the anthem will it be offsetting penalties??
It sounds like that was just a suggestion. From Adam Shefter's Twitter:

That is not true at all. NFL isn't losing money.

Darn. What will the Prez distract the masses with now that the NFL has become un-American?
bet his next tweet is self congratulatory about how the NFL heeded his advice

This. Is. Not. Ok.
If you do not like to follow the policies of your employer you can always quit. The NFL is not prohibiting protests, they are simply saying you can do it on your on time, not on our watch when it is costing us millions of dollars.
Go cost your employer money (viewership was down sharply, whic will lead to lost revenue), especially millions, and see how long they keep you employed.

All I give a frick about is Wins and Losses for the Black-n-Gold.
And if our players get in real trouble off the field.
Same.
I couldn't give a frick less about how a misguided dumbass decides to protest.

The Networks have lost money, not the league.

Can we stop the politards from bringing their shite to other boards?

In addition to the national anthem protests, which have played a major part in the NFL’s decline this year, NFL expert Clay Travis attributed the steep decline to:
The end of the one kickoff window in the east on Sundays. Previously, the NFL had set kickoff times on Sunday. Now, the games played at those times typically aren’t the best, while the better games are pushed to Sunday night, Monday night, Thursday night and internationally.
Bad football: “Put plainly, the NFL is often putting a poor product on the field and NFL fans are choosing to spend their time doing something else.”
Two teams in Los Angeles: “While the NFL spent a great deal of time celebrating its return to the nation’s second largest city the reality is this, the Rams and the Chargers have brought down television ratings in Los Angeles, costing the league’s TV partners tens of millions of dollars in tenths of ratings points by themselves.”
And is the league revenue dependent on ratings? They already got paid with the TV contracts right?

It's all about the money and the NFL was losing too much of it.
You must work for the government because that is what every other business is designed to do. If you cost me tons of money you will do as I say on my dime, or find another job. You are free to protest or try to solve these social injustices all you want in your free time, which hardly any of these players ever do.

Who decides what's "appropriate respect"?
And a lot of the same aszholes who bitch about kneeling and disrespecting the flag and anthem also fly and honor the confederate flag.

Most do and do a lot of it.

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out across the country at other high schools and universities.
Not really. High schools and universities stay in the locker room for the anthem. NFL used to before military became a top sponsor.

When I played in the late 90's in high school, not once was I on the field for the anthem.
