Pertaining to girls, the saying is correct, for the most part. Age also plays a factor. At a younger age, really nice, straight edge guys usually get their feelings crushed. Although in rare cases, they lock up a great girl and live happily ever after.

Social Anxiety sucks bud, I can completely understand that. I'm on Lexapro, I try to run/work out every single day, and I honestly still have major issues with it every now and then. It's just fricking draining having to deal with the general populace, and I still have a massive pity party once ever two to three weeks. The worst is when I get tired, and it combines with my depression, and I just feel like a complete fricking failure.

Social anxiety sucks arse. You have to take little steps. At one point I couldn't go to the damn grocery store without having a pain attack. It took several years of work and I still have a problem now and then but I have no problems meeting new people, speaking in front of large groups (100 or more). One day I was just like "frick it, this sucks" and I made myself deal with it.
Be nice but don't let girls walk all over your arse.
