sounds like she's hitting menopause. good luck, and tread lightly as long as she has a key to your house.

Don't move out of the marital house. Sleep in the garage if needed.
The second you get an apartment, she'll file it as you "abandoned the household" and the house will be hers.

No, just no. Don't leave a paper trail like that.

You have to be much stealthier than that.
With everyone paying for everything with debit cards these days, it's easy to track spending.
The courts will look at your bank statements when determining child support and alimony.

Grocery store. When it asks "Do you want cash back?"

OP mentioned a forensic accountant already. They'll find all of it. It also sounds like his wife is the one with the business. If she's been planning this for a while (and she's smart,) she's probably loaded the business with debt to reduce the value of the payout OP would expect.

Maybe, or maybe she was selling shite for cash and hiding the money away. I wouldn't sack my business to hide money from my spouse, would be a hell of a lot more beneficial to handle a small amount of business off book and hide that away.

This is a great way for the opposing attorney to label you a gambling addict.

This is the sort of advice I would expect from a lowlife not a computer. A computer would have more sentiment.

Exactly. ChatGPT has obviously never been through a divorce.

A paper trail is the one thing you don't want. Use debit to pay for things you want to show on a bank statement as expenses.

Use the cash stash for the restaurants, bar tabs, strip clubs, etc.

She got the goldmine, and I got the shaft. They said they was splitting it all down the middle, then they gave her the better half.

Damn man that’s tough to read. At least you’re not hiding behind the old “for a friend”.

Is this going to be one of those threads where the OP post some cryptic shite, everyone ask a million questions and he never comes and clears anything up?

Being they are likely lat 50s/60s, hopefully not child support involved.

This whole things sounds likes it's going to be expensive.

The comments have been sort of what I expected. That said, the reason for my post was for recommendations. Someone has mentioned Michelle Sunsari as a possible option. I'm curious if anyone on here is familiar with her. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

goes over well in court

Not AFTER the filing happens. Before? Its his money. He can spend whatever. Its not calculated by court until formal filing happens, from that day on, a snapshot of finances happens and all is figured from there.

If he would happen to pay a friend, say 40k for an all inclusive deer hunt to his ranch (wink wink), there is zero she could do. That 40k would NOT be part of the estate value, as long as filing hasn't happened.
Later, friend returns him his cash.

Why a man would expose all of his life's work money to a woman that gets to chill, is beyond me.

Hide your shite men....if marriage lasts, you can still spend it on her.

But why let someone take it, thats leaving you?
