Offender's deceased bro, Torie ..... according to obit, had Janice Clark listed as his godmother.

The suspect, Ronnie Kato, 36, was taken into custody without incident after a four-hour standoff, the police chief said.
So what was with the vid on FB where one could clearly hear someone emptying a mag?

I’d say, to put it nicely, it was an uphill battle.
I don’t think most people cared about white or black, they cared about who would be the best person for the job
I would have been thrilled if Myron would have been picked, he was best candidate imo

Paul said the suspect had fired at SWAT officers during the standoff and the officers had returned fire. It appears no one was injured from the gunfire and Kato was later arrested.

Most rational people don’t. However, the one person who mattered most in the decision absolutely did care about white or black and many, many of her constituents did and do too.

Correct. LeDuff was one of the best police chiefs this city ever had
I wish he’d run for mayor. I’d vote for him in a heartbeat.

To be fair, it's not like she pays them. And BRPD's shite pay was like that way before she got there. There's a lot of shite you can call her out about, I'm just not sure this is one. If you do, you also have to place responsibility on the mayors before her as well. Them getting low pay wasn't something she just decided to do when she was elected.
Let’s be fair. The BRPD works for the police chief who was selected by the mayor. BRPD is her responsibility.
Pay was low when she was elected. Morale wasn’t bad. After three years pay is no better, morale is very low and the police ranks are even thinner.
As mayor improving the police and their working conditions hadn’t happened under Broome’s three plus years as mayor.
Is that fair because it’s the truth.

Rumored, you might get your wish.

Mac would have been the best IMO dude doesn’t play, but I think the only reason he wasn’t selected is because he wouldn’t fire Salamoni.

Kato, 36, was already believed to be responsible in a fatal shooting around 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Pamela Drive, a residential street off North Sherwood Forest Drive and about 5½ miles from where the officers were shot. The victim in that morning shooting was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said.
Police released few details about the incident but officials said it was likely domestic violence related.
