quote:The key is you can sideload Kodi. If you don't sideload Kodi, then you have a really good device that you can stream a lot of great content from apps.
What can a FireTV stick do for me that my smart TV can't do already?
But sideloading Kodi with TV Addons gets you all the movies, music and live TV streams you could ask for. You can't do that with anything else I don't think.

There are other ways, buts the fire TV stick is the most user friendly after the install.
Im about to pull the trigger on a fire TV. My stick buffers constantly.

Are you still having issues? I let the fire TV expire in my cart and even though it's still available, I can't add it to my cart. I read on the Amazon forum that if a lightning deal expires, you can't access it again.

Do you have Kodi on your stick--if so, would you recommend getting the fire TV instead. I'm about to jump into the Kodi world and don't want to half arse it

Yeah I killed two due to overuse. Went ahead and got the fire TV and HDTV antenna deal.

I say only if you're not on it heavily everyday. That was my mistake.

I have it for my FireTV and it's pretty much the only app i use. Everything you would wnt to watch is on it.

quote:The Stick is enough if you just want to use the apps like Netflix, HBO Now, or any Amazon Prime Instant Video content. With Kodi, the Stick suffers.

The Fire TV is really slick and it will definitely do the trick and handles Kodi well.

After you cut the cord. I recommend boosting your internet speed.

Got 100 mbps coming from Comcast tomorrow--now whether or not those will be the actual speeds is TBD
