How are you sure it is not a heat pump?

Because we have identical units, and it's natural gas furnaces

am assuming the pvc pipe has much more resistance to freezing than brass

It depends but metals will cool quickly and depending on the pipe, they’ll split easier.

You mentioned pvc for water lines but that’s unusual. Are you sure they’re pvc?

Not really that unusual in my experience but it's more so in commercial uses

I had about 40 assorted in my yard looking for seeds I had out - most were frozen, so I tossed a bunch out and had about 70 birds in back eating - gotta keep my birds fed

Anyone have any model runs for what tomorrow is looking like? I haven't seen much of anything but it's been my biggest concern (other than freezing pipes) this entire time. Could be a real mess for places up here that have mostly had snow

It’s warmed up to 24 where I am. Sun is out so no problem with a sweater and jogging pants outside.

Yes the lines connecting the supply line to all the filters then to the house are PVC. They look like a miniature version of the ugly one under the west upper deck. It turns back to metal at the spiquet and as it runs in the house.

Well it appears between the new heat tape I put on it and the somewhat warmer temps (prolly bright sunshine more than anything else) my frozen pipes have thawed without busting anything or there being any major leaks at least. Could be a small one that I just can't see yet but I can handle that

Heat in the house is working and the flu seems to finally be on its way out of our house

So may finally have this blizzard headed the right direction. That or something really terrible is about to happen

The plumbing companies were let loose today. We fixed several busted lines at Burton in Lake Charles. The people at the livestock barn were very appreciative to have water again for their animals. It’s crazy how expensive plumbing fittings cost these days.

Thanks Pio, doing much, much better. Not perfect but God help me I'll take it

Also, sounds like some major black ice issues are developing across north MS and parts of Tenn and Alabama tonight

Sunshine caused a lot of melting today and it's freezing back....

Yes with electric heat strips and it sucks.
same

We have a wood burning fireplace but I am allergic to burning wood. Think about putting in propane gas logs. Water heater and heat strips would be easy also since basementis easily accessible near fireplace.
