I believe the US knows more than anyone. But, I don't really know what to believe with this plane.
I do know Malaysia has done a terrible job from the start with information. In the same aspect you never know who has been in their ear.

So why the outrage that the plane was declared lost?
Looking at the methodology used to make the determination, it seems fairly good to me. The people actually running these analyses aren't exactly idiots.

The lithium battery/electrical/decompression theories don't hold up. Human interaction... pilot or co-pilot/hijacking... everyone is off'ed or kept at bay... plane runs out of fuel on autopilot and crashes.
I'd bet black boxes are never recovered and cause is never determined. Debris will be found. Conclusion reached. But no, "proof of what happened."
