Dallas also has one. I think it is in Richardson.

It's in Coppell right by the airport.

Lots of places fit this description.

Birmingham

Lol.
Birmingham is making a pitch for it, but you can forget that.
The "leaders" are pushing for it, but want to put these headquarters in Western part of town, which is the black section of town.thus, they've made it an "agenda."

How is the Phoenix metro area not on the list? It seems like it would be absolutely perfect.

It is growing too much tho I read one projection that had Atl, Birmingham, and Greenville as a major combined city.
That wouldn't make much sense since none of their Combined Statistical Areas (combining adjacent metros and micros) overlap, and the counties separating them are sparsely populated. Combining all of those areas and adding the connecting counties would result in a combined area of over 31,000 square miles with a population of about 9.2 million.

As a comparison, Los Angeles CSA is especially huge because the outskirts include large desert areas. It's 34,000 square miles, with almost 19 million people.

Nashville meets all of the criteria the author lays out.

Mass transit will disqualify Nashville.

Well is the land cheaper on there side of town? Is there more capacity to build on that side of town? Birmingham isn't that big, so even if it is agenda driven, it may also be the most practical option anyways.

There was actually an article in the Advocate trying to tell us what Louisiana has to do to get Amazon to come here.

I mean I knew the Advocate was proficient in fiction....but they delved into a true fantasy land to suggest that there is anything Louisiana can do to get Amazon to come here

The city and state will never become anything if the people from here dont aspire for bigger and better things.

They can put it in Shreveport-Bossier City Area. Plenty of room for expansion of those areas. The state of Louisiana would never prop up Shreveport to bid for something like that though.

I'm sure the land is. Plus, there are a number of idled steel Mills nearby.
I just mentioned race because every time Birmingham tries to get something like this, they will push the African American areas.

A fairly recent, now jailed, mayor made an asinine push to host the Olympics. I assume he meant summer Olympics.

DC and Chicago have far better mass transit, yet they are still among the most heavily congested areas.

And why would that exclude a city anyways, when it's coming from Seattle, which has a limited rail system with 77,000 daily riders in a metro of almost 3.7 million. So only 2.1% of the metro population uses that, compared to NYC's subway system at 28.2%

Tennessee actually has higher corporate taxes than a number of states (TX, GA, OH, VA, NC) that have comparably competitive cities with Nashville.

Dallas may he better equipped, but given that it's already one of the most congested metros in the world, and growing by about 2% each year, it's going to run into problems too.

Don't think some are factoring the airport and the land that is around it. Access of getting into the airport is a major factor. As someone posted, it is the state and city government that can sweeten the deal for Amazon (taxes, cost of land, etc). The Kentucky governor has for some time been in discussions with Amazon about the new facility. Also, Amazon has one of the largest hubs being built located next to the NKY/Cinci Airport.

There is a reason why UPS is in Louisville. Fed Ex in Memphis...the airport and location.

The Whole US steel Fairfield plant on the west side of town is basically empty. That place is like its own city. Amazon can move there and Birmingham can be the redneck Seattle.
