oh yea, and if you tune into ESPN next month you'll see it on tv.?

I can also see world championship wrestling, bowling, lumber jack contests on TV. Hell, curling is a televised olympic sport. What is your point about it being on TV?

2x Back Squat (135/75lbs) - add 10lbs per minute up to 225/135lbs - after that add 5 lbs each additional minute until failure
This would be terrible to do. An EMOM that would potentially last up 30-35 minutes

Who programs that shite? Only to be followed by another EMOM?

Here is ours today, and it will be the only time I post in this type thread.
For Time:

1 mile run
50 abmat sit ups
800 meters
30 TTB
400 meters
50 abmat sit ups

Part B: ROMWOD for 15 minutes.

Well you're too weak to handle the max weight then.

It's 205 btw and you scale down if you can't perform the move safely with good form for the entire emom. 205 is for the peak athlete.

Youre an idiot.

My point was that injuries can happen at any weight. When you sacrifice form for speed...they are far more likely.

Oh and I could easily power clean more then you.

A beginner would select a weight relative to their strength. It's not that hard

how is this different than doing 8 heavy reps and resting for 2 minutes till your next set.

A whole two minutes? Dafuq? Gives you time to shite, shower and shave between sets, amirite?

It looks like bad programming, but not for that reason.

Anyone can scale, hell, you could easily scale down to KBS if you are new are not comfortable with cleans.

May be a better workout with KBS anyway.

I just took this from the rules for Olympic lifts.

The time limit for an athlete to begin an attempt after being called to the platform is one minute. At 30 seconds remaining there is a warning signal. The exception to this rule is when a competitor takes two attempts one after the other, in which case the athlete may rest up to 2 minutes. In such case, the athlete also gets a warning after 90 seconds have elapsed without a lift.

Even in beginning weight lifting competitions where people are chasing maximum exertion lifts, there is a time component.

In this case, the load is or should be no where near maximal.

Your dislike for the Crossfit methodology is well documented, but if done safely and under good coaching (like basically every activity that involves exertion) it is a good modality.

We have multiple USA Weightlifting coaches in our gym. Probably the only two in town. I have to imagine the lifting techniques taught are better than in most gyms possibly not, but to think poor technique is limited to crossfit gyms is just foolish.

Lastly, if you are a fan of power lifting and lifting in general I don't know why anyone would dislike the huge number of new lifters that crossfit has introduced to a sport you like.

Carry on.

always love seeing people do olympic lifts in a timed event.

it's the right idea on how to not injure yourself.

Choose a weight that will allow you to finish and not get hurt. Its not really that hard a concept but it seems to escape the people who like to bag on crossfit.

not gonna lie I was once a crossfit doubter, but I joined about a month ago and have loved every minute of it.

I have gotten much stronger, beginning to lose weight and overall feel better about myself.

It doesn't matter what method you like to use for working out as long you aren't a fat arse couch potato then its ok.

and Thursdays are our recovery days, so no prgramed WOD I just ran 2 miles

but yesterdays WOD

Complete All for Time:
100 push-ups
90 Russian twists with feet up
and both hands touching
the floor...no ball.
80 Plate Curls 25#/10# full range
70 Knee Ups on Bar
60 Superman's
50 Burpees
40 Dips w/ parallettes

Burpees

I find this to be the dumbest exercise ever. There's no strength gains to be had there.

Oh you can also throw in those stupid arse ropes

I don't think anyone is burpeeing for strength gains.

It makes my arse sweat a lot, and breath hard. Seems it is doing something.
