Everyone down voting and so would I a few years ago. Battery powered tools are finally good quality and I made the change.

Don't have time to fix shite all the time.

How much run time do you get out if one charge? I hate weed trimmers and this is one change I would consider but I have a lot to trim. It takes me over an hour. Is it going to last that long?

I actually think mine is a 58V. I bought a combo from Costco and it had a blower and trimmer. Two years ago. I have never ran out of a charge on one cut.

I got the Kobalt 80 volt. Gets one hour of run time, which is just enough for me. Has pretty good power as well.

Adjust your high/low idle using your ear tuner.

Buy a quality professional product. Don't put ethanol gas in it. Put Stabil in your gas can.

Thing will last longer than that 40 volt battery will keep a charge and it won die half way through edging the fence line.

I have one of these that I bought from some baw for $50. I leave it in the rain and everything. Use something like trufuel and it's indestructible. I have an ego system but usually grab the echo instead.

I have the Stihl battery powered weed eater and I trim around the house and both sides of my fence on about half a charge. Maybe 500’ total. I also have a dewalt 60v that is great. It lasts about the same time but uses a bigger line so it is more in line with a gas trimmer.

To answer the OP question, usually there is a filter somewhere and it might be partially blocked. Most small engine problems are either burned pistons or fuel related (carb, bad gas or clogged line/filter)

I have a WORX weed eater… and honestly it works great, I can do my entire yard front and back on one battery… and once you buy a worx you can get the string refills for just shipping cost which is like 8 dollars… but you get 6 of them which easily last 1.5years of string

I have a WORX trimmer as well. Works good for my small yard. I wasn’t aware of the free string. Will check the website for deets.

If you've tried the simple stuff, it's the fuel mixture screw. The EPA mandates these be accessable by "mechanics" only but you should be able to do it. Don't buy a new carb. Look for the funky looking screw.
