The progs mocking this post are just playing one of their standard cards. "Of course we don't want to go that far. We just want to eliminate the Confederate memorials." What they say is off the table today will be their rallying cry tomorrow.

While we're at it, it's time to rename the Zulu parade. After all, The great uniter of the Zulu tribe, Shaka, was a vicious man. Accept him as your ruler, or you die. Sneeze while he is talking, you die. When his Mom died, he ordered the death of pregnant women and their husbands so many could grieve. Children were forced into military duty. Maybe not chattel slavery, but it's slavery nonetheless. Is this what we want represented in our city, in a place of prominence, rolling on Mardi Gras day?

No slave ownership involved in the naming of Arkansas.
Our state was named in honor of an Indian tribe that we wiped off the face of the earth when we invaded and took over their land.
