Most people don’t understand how liquid most watches are and how they have been appreciating lately. Very easy to move in and out of with very little to no loss or even profit on the right models.

Both are beautiful. You won’t go wrong with either.

Few of the reasons I tired of the air king was the polished bezel and the busy dial - so many numbers. Also the measly 1 day power reserve. Was a pretty great watch though.

What the frick do you people do for a living to afford an $8,000 watch?
Engineer. Good at saving money, no kids. I'll tuck a little bit away every paycheck.

So I just won this sixties era Zodiac Sea Wolf on ebay. A little surprised I was the sole bidder and got it for the minimum. Allegedly recently serviced and runs good. We'll see. If it's a piece of junk it was worth the risk at $500.

100% agree.

Where would you rather it? I wear a 6:00 date, but all of my numbers are the same size. With the 12, 3, 6, 9…you’d hate to cover one of those.
Just saying…for a $14k watch not on a bracelet…it’s the one.

It is actually from the early 90s. It was part of the colored "Point" collections. That is a Blue Point evidenced by the blue dot at 4:30. There are red, silver, gold and blue points. That was the period Willy Gad Monnier ran Zodiac before bankruptcy in the late 90s. He was the previous CEO of TAG Heuer and you can see the TAG Heuer Link influence in this and other watches during his Zodiac tenure.

I prefer not having one at all, but I know that's a personal preference. I feel like most are an afterthought and break up the symmetry of the dial. I don't mind them as much if they're a little more integrated into the design like this Damasko for example.

I've been having my Panerai 1860 Luminor Submersible for 8 years. No issues whatsoever. Absolutely love it.
Great weight and look for casual or business, and I use the black rubber band. I had to replace the band after about 5 years, and a new OEM band ran around $150-180.
Would definitely recommend. I have a Zodiac as well and it's not even in the same ballpark as that Panerai.

The latest trinket I'm hankering for is a Vietnam era Zodiac Sea Wolf
I’ve been debating these 2 modern iterations:
The black looks more classic to me, but something about the cream dial draws me. I think the cream has the look of “patina”, idk
