I'll guess that some of those driver have cars or trucks with an "Auto" setting on the high beams. This is supposed to dim the lights if a vehicle approaches, but I've noticed that the setting on my car is very error prone, so I don't ever use it.
Of course, some of them are just buttheads.

On a related note, I hate the "auto-dim" headlights in new cars. I've noticed it waits longer than I like to dim and will dim for random light sources. I turn it off.

I got that automatic brights feature on my whip
we talking about the fricking dumbasses who had a headlight go out and then roll around with their brights on like a fricking dumbass instead of hitting up autozone like a normal person and replacing a God Damned headlight

You are probably part of the problem. Those things always malfunction and flash in traffic and at oncoming cars. fricking terrible on a rental.

I can adjust that but ain't it worse when folks ride around perpetually with their brights on because one of their headlights is out

Idiots driving with their lights on bright is becoming an epidemic.
I think, on top of people just being more stupid in general, it’s an indicator of how our society is losing its sense of politeness. Not bright lighting others use to be, and still is to some like me, seen as rude. And being unnecessarily rude was, and still is by some like me, something most people would be humiliated to be viewed as. But now people don’t care.

How old is your vehicle? I drive down a 2 lane highway before the sun comes up every morning and always have at least 1 person flash me when my brights are not on and it’s usually people without LED headlights

Both are terrible. People who ride around with brights and people who let the car decide and inadvertently flash their brights.

That has always boggled my mind....people don't notice that their lights are not on. I think often times someone has a car with automatic lights, so they think they always automatically turn on, but you have to verify they are on by the indicator on the dash. Someone else uses the car, and is used to turning the lights off before shutting off the car, so they do so. Then the automatic light driver gets back behind the wheel and assumes they are on when they are not.
I thought by now all cars have automatic lights.
Cars usually have bright arse dashboards when the lights are off, and they dim with the lights are on. Bright arse dashboards should give it away.
I agree that technology has overloaded the ignorant.
