I would ask what is the reason to weedeat after mowing?
Do you enjoy having the larger grass clippings laying in your freshly mowed yard making it look messy?

So the clippings from that can be run over with mower. Who doesnt do that

I edge with my weedeater, then do the weedeating, then mow. By the time I can change attachments to the edger I can be mostly done with the edging and then go straight to weedeater.

My wife does this when she mows. Drives me crazy but what can you do. If I wanted it done right I would do it myself but it's too hot.

I use to hate to hear the old edge my dad use to use.. grinding up against the cement, sparks flying, sometimes the blade would get stuck. It always smelled like gas so between throwing sparks and smelling like gas I just knew one day it would blow up.. Never did.

Back when I mowed, it was to mulch the weed eater clippings back into the yard with rest of the grass. Then you blow anything left back into the lawn.
