re: POS cop begs judge for mercy at sentencing

Unpopular opinion but if I had the discretion, I would have given time served or 30 days depending on the victims input, misdemeanor battery, required mental health evaluation/counseling and some form of restitution. I'd peek at his complaint history as an officer beforehand to make sure it's clean. I'd do the same for anyone, cop or not, given the circumstances.

Cameras protect the good officers and reveal the bad ones. This guy is a bad one. Police officers that can't control their emotions are a detriment to a free society.

That's what I mean when I said fire him, he doesn't make good decisions. A smart person who knows how things work (for better or worse) wouldn't have thrown her like that. He shouldn't be in law enforcement with that mindset.
Ok then. I see where you're coming from with that.

But six months in jail is harsh.
No doubt. Completely not warranted at all in this case.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this isn't the first time this POS has done something like this. He's probably gotten away with it so many times in the past he just figured this was standard procedure.
Just a guess.
Just a guess.

Your argument can be said for every industry under the sun:
Presidency
Doctors
Cops
Engineers
But continue on with your gotcha bro. Awesome!
Stupid analogy. Cops have thousands of interactions every day with people, and the ramifications of those interactions can be horrific; the professions you listed have neither the quantity or quality. Many are justified, but what bootlickers like you refuse to support is the removal of officers for obvious criminal behavior. We're not talking incompetent behavior. The officer in this video is not incompetent. He's a cop because he wants to feed his ego whenever possible.
Add some salt to that boot, boy.

I don't know why the cops always take the bait
Oh you are recording the police department from the sidewalk? Enjoy

I disagree with this sentiment utterly and completely. Lower enlisted folks in the military are paid nothing and behavior like this absolutely isn’t tolerated and it doesn’t happen. The reason stuff like this happens is because of the “thin blue line”. That cop standing next to that guy that did that never said a word and was complicit. This breeds a population of people that believe anything is acceptable.
His prosecution is an outlier. If it were commonplace to hold people in these organizations accountable, this stuff wouldn’t happen. To prove my point, when stuff like this happens in video after video, how many times have you seen other officers intervene and correct the offending officer. I can recall one, it was a female and then she was assaulted by the officer while other officers stood around and still did nothing. It’s a culture issue.

This.
And this notion that these/a majority are videos collected by people standing on the sidewalk waiting to play gotcha is false, though not surprising. Dems and Pubs both have their own level of government they protect. Just two sides of the same coin.

Some of you continue to make this incredibly intellectually lazy argument. You wrongly assume anyone that criticizes a police officer is a liberal. Nevermind the fact that conservatives have been the target of cops since COVID. They arrested conservatives for going to church, not wearing masks, peacefully (actually peaceful) protesting COVID lockdowns, daring to continue operating their family business, etc. But you still love them unconditionally and can't stand to hear a bad word against them.
And no, I have never and will never call the police. The founding fathers gave us the 2nd Amendment. They intended for us to take care of ourselves. What a concept!

Judge was kind to him.
I'm a back the blue guy as its a very difficult and mostly thankless job.
With that said, he lost his cool on an albeit belligerent drunk woman, but she was restrained and he used excessive force and hurt her, and thank God there was video. He deserved more time for that.
Cops should be held to a higher standard and should have cameras on them at all times. They also get lavish pensions. They have to do their job with integrity even when the people they are dealing with are scum.

Thats bc the military actually has consequences unlike civilian courts.

Why are you so obsessed with this? Don’t drink and drive and this wouldn’t happen
I’m not justifying the cop’s actions- I recognize them as an inescapable reality and make every effort to avoid them by following the law to the best of my ability

A piece of duct tape across the pieholes of these mouthy motherfrickers would do wonders.
A whole generation of pampered assholes needs a good arse kicking to learn some respect for law enforcement.
Unfortunately those days are over and Planet of the Apes is ingrained in the culture.

That cop deserves whatever he gets but your hatred for the police is straight up pathological.
Its like you cream yourself at the chance to post a bad cop story.

Fascinating that you equate posting articles and videos that expose bad cops = hatred of all law enforcement.
But I find it especially hilarious that some of you get so mad about me wanting to discuss it.
Oh, and if any of my regular fan club has posted in this thread and wonders why they've gotten no attention from me, one of my techy friends made a custom extension for the BRAVE browser. I had been complaining to him that this forum had no 'ignore user' feature and he took it as a challenge. Looks like I'll have another for him to add.

I don't think 6 months for that, given all the context, was lenient. I would have given him the 11 days time served, you can't be a cop, and you are now a convicted felon. That's a lot of punishment for a one-time frickup, without additional jail time.
I pretty much walk both sides of the fence when it comes to cops - sometimes people need to just shut the frick up and do as they’re told, but sometimes cops are just power hungry arse holes.
However, do you really think this was the only time this cop had lost his shite on someone, or just the only time he’s been caught? Seems to me he was pretty comfortable lying about the incident. Also, cops usually circle the wagons to protect their own so maybe they were just tired of his shite.
