There are vehicles now that are able to run using 100% ethanol. 1.5 gallons of ethanol produces the energy of one gallon of gasoline. It can be done.
Ethanol kills organisms by denaturing their proteins and dissolving their lipids and is effective against most bacteria and fungi, and many viruses. Uses to make many different types of tinctures. Get a fire started quickly. Etc
Has huge medical, medicinal and productive uses. Alcohol is a fricking must.

With that said, id find way more medical properties in it than anything else. But it also be wanting to plant specific willows to make my own form of Ibuprofen.

I have been keeping an eye on it, sir...
Think of the services, items, and all that could be traded for the alcohol. That and tools... going to come in handy when building up the island...

Naw, the family has an island in the middle of a river in FL. Pretty quick current, too, with only one or two real accessible points. Great place for apocalyptic survival.
