What a stupid comment. By your logic, no one should be defending themselves in the early morning because it might be cops breaking down their door. Everyone in the south would grab their gun first after having their door broken down, none of them are "asking for it."

Exactly.

It appears they at least managed to get the right house this time. How often have we heard of the wrong house though? And imagine that's you, having done absolutely nothing wrong.

Officers should be guilty no matter what here..
frick a raid over marijuana, and any other drug activity for that matter. Unless he was holding people hostage, or he was wanted for multiple murders, they should've figured out another way. Especially done more investigation on the the house to make sure innocent kids would not be harmed.

Idc if they announced themselves before entering the home. Literally ANYONE could do the same, impersonating a cop- What is someone supposed to do in that situation, just lay down and die? how are they supposed to know if its really a cop while disoriented and shocked, not knowing whats going on...

Whatever the pretext, drugs, warrants, guilty, innocent, it doesn’t matter. When you point a gun at someone, you are a threat, period. The person staring down your barrel is in no position to determine your intent is anything other than deadly. The only response in that moment deadly force.

Have you ever considered that not breaking the law is an option?

Except it very much does matter.

Dont see how. Unfortunate, yes. Will policy changes come from it? Maybe. But they had a warrant, announced themselves

I agree, everyone that breaks the law should be shot.

Get caught smoking dope? -shot
Caught jaywalking? - shot
speeding? - shot
lied about your income on your taxes? - shot

We are servants to the law because the law is only good.

Have you ever considered that some laws might just perhaps be unjust and really none of the government's business?

Maybe you should make a career change, go into law enforcement, and you can show them how it should be done.

Step 1: No pre-dawn raids when the guy you're looking for isn't home.

Baby steps.

they can arrest these guys when they go to Walmart and search their homes then.

So let's risk a shoot out at the Walmart store. What could go wrong?

If a sixteen year old points a gun at cops in his home, will he suddenly turn into a law abiding kid inside the store?

I'm not a fan of no knocks but the dealer won't have 10 pounds of drugs on himself at the Walmart. If you knock on their door and give then 5 minutes, all that fentanyl will be down the toilet.

Ah, the old "you aren't allowed to have an opinion or critique because you don't understand" argument.

I hope you've never criticized a politician, or voted because you don't understand what its like to hold an elected office.

Maybe we should stop trying to police morality.
