I was being snarky, actually. I just want my kid to have the best education and opportunities, like other parents. If he's great at sports, I want him to have the chance to play for good coaches/teams. If great at music or art, I want that option. If great at nothing? Well, just want him in a supportive, Christian environment

Went there for from K-12. I personally liked it and met a lot of nice people, teachers, etc. Went to a talent show the other day and it seemed a little bit more ghettofied than it was when I attended HS there fwiw. Still a very good school imo.

You went to see Hairspray?

MBS is very middle class and a little less polished than Episcopal or St. George.

St. George is the hot thing right now with a lot of new money.

Just curious how they stack up academically? I got that feel from other people's opinions.

Why is new money so interested in St. George? Not arguing, Im just trying to understand these interesting BR private school dynamics. Lived here over 10 years and don't feel like a local..still.

Cypress heights is on our lookout list for schools for our son, along with St Jude and LSU lab.

St Alylousis is nice, but a little too snooby for our taste. I have a lot of relatives that went there.

Oh and for the record....Redemptorst FTW

Man, that's funny. I went to PHS in the early 90's and it was not great. Weird to hear it's now the shining example for academics in Cenla.

But it didn't seem to boast a lot of diversity.

Diversity isn't something a private school in baton rouge should boast about. Have you seen the population of the public school system?
Parkview is a good option and where we would send our daughter if we didn't hop on the white flight train years ago.

A lot of newer neighborhoods have come online the last 15 years in the Parish of St George so the school has grown. I believe they just started or are getting ready to start two new buildings. And they have a huge campus with room for growth.

Large class sizes though. I believe any you have listed you will be happy with.

Are you a big contributor to LSU, or is your kid a legacy? If the answer to either of these questions is "no," then on your chances for getting your child into the school.

I'd say episcopal; however, be prepared to spend some cash. If I remember right it may be the most expensive private school in ebr
