People shouldn't have to dress to same for people to accept them. That just more indicative of the laziness, ignorance and superficialness of those that want others to assimilate. It makes it easier for them and their sensibilities.

But it's more accessible entertainment. They are Payless student-athletes at the end of the day that go to class just like the rest of us did.
actors and musicians generally aren't putting their livlihoods on the line.

Studies have shown time after time that blacks wearing bright white sneakers in crowded areas bow up 88% more than whites.
"Get off my kicks, mayne".
Anyone that's been around blacks will confirm this.
Whatever you do, don't step on the kicks.

Then, by your notion, I'd suggest those black players and black students go back to the HBCUs, SWAC, and MEAC and to an environment where maybe their successes, risks, and humanities are respected on and off be field.
Would you be okay with that?
The minute that would happen, too many people's pockets would get touched, and the boosters/lobbied the would make sure those private businesses would adhere to those federal laws. I can gurantee you it'd happen.

Well from my experiences, my shoes never get touched in mainly black establishments.
If I walk into a college bar, I better bring my worst shoes

hip hop influence dress out
I agree that there is 100% an intention to keep this out. Would you not say that it is a cultural difference that might clash with a majority white college crowd at LSU? That would be the same as having a goth crowd trying to mingle with a country/blue grass crowd. If cowboys started showing up in a goth bar, I bet the goth kids would show up less affecting the bars bottom line.
It is racial in nature to a point because that's considered the culture of the race, but we are trying to say that we have to accept hip hop/hood culture. I say you don't have to in order to not be racist. You can dislike that just as I can dislike affliction t-shirt wearing juice heads. If the race were to take on the culture prevalent in the establishment, it would be a non-story. Do problems spill over into racial issues that are blatantly wrong, I'm sure and that's not acceptable. But the idea of the dress code at it's base level is not racist.

What would happen if one brother stepped on another brother's shiny white kicks with no sincere apology?
It's a sign of disrespect if I recall correctly.

That's because black men in BR are responsible for the majority of the violent crime in BR. There's a reason Fred's hasn't been on the news having a Bella Noche moment.
So it justifies discrimination against a demographic based their race? Sadly and predictably, people believe this to be true.
So Tigerland's dress code is based on race?
So how do LSU football players get arrested in Tigerland bars then?
So how come it is wrong to set a dress code, but not wrong to associate that dress code with race? I have seen many a tapout and baggy pants wearing white GDI kicked denied entry to a Tigerland bar. So what happened there?

Ok with what?

Yes

The BR city bar isn't the biggest fan of black people. They're quick to tell black people no because of their clothes
You're kidding right. I'm guessing you haven't been there in the past 5 years?

Let me preface this by saying I have no clue if the OP article is legit or not, don't know enough or anything about Tigerland, so I'm not even speaking directly on that supposed issue but....Where's SFP to tell me it's a class issue and not a race issue?
This post is basically saying, yes I acknowledge the discrimination, it's always been that way, and if you don't like it, you can leave. It got 58 likes , 6 dislikes.
SFP says, just a class issue, nothing to see here. Riiiiiight.

It's been like this since the late 90s. We just have way more sensitive pussies running around the world these days. Don't like it? Go open your own fricking bar or move the frick out of 'Merica

Back when Sport's was around, one of the "rules" was no sagging pants and no Mr. T starter kits

Even if it is, it says more about the majority white college crowd that has little to no knowledge of other people and their cultures or how they interact. I'm sorry, but in 2015, in this age of information and more interactions amongst different groups, I cant advocate for laziness and ignorance. Is it too much to challenge others to step outside their comfort zones to interact with people different then them or in a way that doesnt appease their sensibilities? I think its rather insulting to this base.

I agree but matters like this usually are superficial, at least to one group. We cant expect blacks to see this how we see it and just toss it off their shoulders.
I dont like the message it sends to the other students that arent apart of this upper middle class white college culture. They shouldnt have to abandon their individuality just to appease a bunch of lazy kids that dont want to be superficial.
Its about time, in 2015, to expect more from our kids. This country is getting browner by the minute and learning how to navigate other spheres will be skill necessary to functional in the world.

"Its a class issue not a race issue" is the favorite go to deflector for post civil rights social liberals.
The folks that want to deny racism at every turn, but when real racism shows up, are nowhere to be found to combat it.

They wouldn't let me in with my Tiddies last time I was there.....I feel discriminated against.
