The guy has all kinds of money, he says he wants to live in BR, but he didn’t live in BR. Why?

Perhaps he's owned it for a long time? I'll be honest, before the whole St George thing came about I couldn't tell you which areas were in the city limits or not.

But he could have bought anywhere in BR but instead decided to get away from the urban decay, He moved to Oak Hills. He established his business in the suburbs. Remember it was Downtown. He like many of us wanted a good, safe place to live and work.
St. George is just another step in that same direction. It’s an effort to better the lives of residents out here who want out of the urban rat race and decay.

I saw that when I was looking at property in my area after our taxes went up drastically. When I was speaking to someone in the assessor’s office about my taxes, I asked why Lipsey’ s was assessed so low and he told me when it’s sold the new owner will pay taxes according to the sales price. That was his answer. I had someone run the comps on it and it’s absolutely under assessed. So his “estate” is priced lower per sq. ft. than my little nothing special subdivision house. Typical Baton Rouge politics.

I think the yellow areas were the old city limits. I remember that Flannery Road north of the railroad tracks was outside of city limits. Park Forest and Monticello were outside city limits.
Also, Essen Lane/Staring were once the south edge of city limits.

You think Lipsey has connections in high places?

I was thinking the same thing. You’ve got Stone’s Throw and Fairway Drive, but I don’t think either are associated with the Country Club.

I grew up right there. He use to live about 200 yards from there, on the other side of that pond (toward the bottom right corner of that photo). He lived in the second house from the corner of Highland and Siegen Ln. I’ve swan right there where is house is located 1000’s of times. That was all horse land from Kleinpeter Lazy Bar K Ranch. Actually, that point was a junkyard of trashed cars. The houses in the background were all pasture as well. Oak Hills was about 500 ft back from that pond.

That may be accurate, but looking at the EBR assessors map there’s more to it than that. The 8500 assessment he’s been charged is for land only, it shows zero assessed and taxed for improvements.
