Will the drug makers start adjusting their prices if demand falls off a cliff.
I would assume if BC/BS did this that most other major carriers are doing the same.
Since March of 2025 all the insurance companies can legally do is cover the patented semaglutides which is why the cost and co-pays through insurance companies has increased tremendously.

During covid these versions of the semaglutides were FDA approved and yes all health insurance companies took advantage of this opportunity to reduce prescription drug costs for the members of their HMO's or for their health insurance policy owners. I have clients all over the U.S. and the prices of the GLP-1's is a big issue and something that we monitor constantly. Unfortunately, the prices of the branded GLP-1/Semaglutides have increased since March.

Effective January 1, 2026 the copays on my prescription drugs have exploded. I will not realize any advantage from the subsidies the democrats and their RINO pals voted in recently.
Obamacare has resulted in increased, taxpayer-subsidized profitability. Obamacare has turned out to be the disaster we all knew it would be.
Our only chance for some relieve is hopefully President Trump will fashion a better healthcare plan. These health insurance companies are getting subsidies from the government then turning around and sticking their health insurance plan customers with high co-pays and deductibles.
It's a lose-win situation. The healthcare plan customers lose and the healthcare insurance companies are the winners. All of this designed to do one thing - move everyone to single payer government healthcare.
Burn in hell Barack Obama.

I work out & use the compounded version about $200 per month.
I've lost 140 pounds and now my doctor took me off of blood pressure & cholesterol medications. I don't need my CPAP machine either. Everything in my last blood test was in the green/normal range. I can walk all day now and even my left knee (which I've had 3 surgeries on) feels so much better...
Before I started, I did a stress test and I was at 98% capacity and had no blockages... just overweight.
I don't like to run because of my surgeries on my knee, but I did and still swim and do water aerobics 3-4 times per week... just couldn't lose the weight... now I can control the volume of food and when I went a month without the medication, I didn't gain any weight back.
Im back on it to see if I can lose another 40 pounds to get under 200...
