Yeah you missed my point. When time after time you marginalize your moderate, employed resident they'll finally throw their hands up and leave. To a location and a community where they aren't treated like shite by the electorate.
Very true. Haven't you already done this in New Orleans though? Are folks gonna leave the mansions on St. Charles and Audubon Park area?

If anything this probably improved that store's business. That place is usually full of homeless people begging for money. But today they are probably selling a lot refreshments to thirsty SJWs, NOPD officers, and masked firefighters.
The ones who are really getting hit hard by this are the homeless people who are usually hanging out or passing out at the Lee Monument.
And remember, one of Mitch's big legacies, besides destroying historic monuments, is a huge proliferation in the NOLA homeless population. It's amazing the amount of people sleeping under the bridge since he took office.

So why do they still have statues up?
Oh that's right. They believe in not erasing the past.
Don't worry, these aren't the last statues of REL, JD or PGT.

I like the theory that they are waiting until Mitch's party to finally do this. Which is hilarious, because given what I have seen with their rigging experience, that alone will be a 6 hour process.

People will forget about this in about week.
which if true, you just destroyed your wonder boy Mitch's entire justification for the removal in the first place.
He claims the mere presence of the monuments has caused entire businesses and industry to flee NOLA and hamper its growth and prosperity over its history.
But you claim the monuments and this entire issue is forgettable? So which is it? You can't have one without the other Einstein.
Talk about some liberal circular logic.

You realize you can disagree with Mitch and still think pro-monument supports are idiots for their claims too?

Historical correctness is a dangerous slope.

Again. I'm talking about the region. At some point you say screw living in Metairie or Covington and commuting to the CBD. I'll move.

Think we should change back the names of roads in NOLA that were once thought to be offensive by white conservatives?

They're city employees. They have a designated work hour once in awhile.

The monuments and this entire issue is forgettable. I pick that one.

so which are you? and I sure hope you meant supporters, otherwise you and some inanimate objects may have had some one sided arguments for no good reason recently.

Agree. Liberals in New Orleans love to say that the city is "held back" by things like these monuments or by other things or institutions they associate with conservative white people. It's a false narrative, of course.
NOLA has lost population since the 1960s for one reason: the liberals who have incompetently run city hall for the last 50 years. They're the ones who destroyed the public school system and let the streets fall to ruin, which are the immediate reasons why people actually do move out of the city, but the root cause of it all are the people who run city hall, who are all like minded liberal democrats. Don't blame an innocent statue for their incompetence.

The crane has been at half-mast for a couple of hours now. I'm ready for the shenanigans.

I wouldnt have minded Liberty Place going and the rest staying. PGT is a real fricking shame. It was art sitting outside and Art Museum.
I would rather see them put in a park in NOLA than see them sold off to the highest bidder. They are a part of NOLA history.

It was also the liberal Save the Fly hippies that fought to keep a soccer facility to be built at the Fly.......
Why arent they trying to Save the Statues?
