Because it’s right downstairs. I obviously wouldn’t choose it. I’m coming from the best pizza city in the country.

Charleston is awesome. Only 1.5 hours away. Much better than Savannah.

Please explain. What is it you love so much about Chuck than Sav?

To all those considering moving from a liberal shithole to a southern utopia, do not bring your liberal bullshite with you. Vote red - you created the shitholes you’re leaving and it’s time to pay the piper.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s why I’m here. To finally vote with like minded people. I need every fricking progressive in Illinois to stay there for the foreseeable future to enjoy the fruits of their votes

Columbia is a fantastic college town with a ton to do

College town? I think of college towns as Oxford, Athens, Auburn, Starkville.

Columbia seems more like Baton Rouge than these (Capital City, not a town). Nice zoo there, and the truck stop with a Starbucks/bowling alley is nice, but let’s not act like it’s this quaint SEC town.

I thought the dream of Cheeseheads and Badgers is to move to Chicago or the Twin Cities so you can leave Wisconsin but not be too far away from home.

You’re such a garbage poster. Seriously. Izzo is worthy of admiration but you make it so easy to hate MSU.

It’s a college town like Baton Rouge and Tallahassee. What you’re thinking of is Nashville and Austin that have a major university but are much more than just a college town.

Probably shouldn’t say since I didn’t realize how lucky I was to get it.

Relocating places should have to do with more than political preferences. At the end of the day, it’s all about quality of life regardless if it’s a blue or red city.

Look, that place is great, but this is a non-factual post.

I guess my definition of town does not include municipalities with a population of 100,000+.

BR and Columbia aren’t Austin/Nashville, but they’re not Oxford/Athens either.

Athens has 100k+ too but I agree with your general point.

Columbia isn’t a college town. It’s a dump that happens to be the capital city because the rest of the necks in the state got upset at Charleston and it’s money.

Not to highjack the thread, but is Georgetown worth visiting?

Athens is larger than you think. It’s also less than 80 miles from Atlanta a city with over 6 million people in the metro area.

Georgetown has a quaint waterfront, it’s a great little town if you don’t get away from the waterfront. Also, Tupacz liqour store on 17 is a legend on the name alone.

This is such bs. Orangeburg is a dump. Allendale is dump. Columbia has a shite ton of bars, good looking women, drugs on demand and USC has a huge Greek life. I can see how Clemson fans would say this, considering the Esso Club and Tigertown Tavern are the only judges of what constitutes a good bar in a town that I'd call the Aynor of the Upstate.

Brother this isn’t the boom you think it is. I went to CofC after my time on the navy because the Clemson scene sucks. We’re in agreement there

Georgetown is Charleston without the Yankee infestation. Front Street is more authentically Southern than anything in Charleston. River Room, Rollin Local and Buzz's Roost are all cool spots.
