Perhaps, but it is still killing more old people than young, fat people.
It appeared as though China panicked. The media panicked. Social media is always in a panic. This caused Europe to panic. This caused the United States to panic. Thus, the world panicked.
We took our cues from China's communist, authoritarian response to a problem, throwing years of scientific reason out the window in order to do so.

You could also mention that Sweden counts a CoviD death as anyone that has died within 30-days of a positive test.
Don't think the other Nords were doing that. And really it all comes down to what and how a country counts.
I also think I read that Sweden had light flu seasons the past couple years, whereas their neighbors were hit a little harder.
