Yes. Those using DWI as an excuse, I say that I drank just as much back then than I do now but had to drive further to a "cool" store when I ran out of beer/alcohol . Now I just walk to the closest gas station liquor store. 21 does not eliminate DWI's

Does anybody know if alcohol-related deaths changed in Louisiana when the drinking age was raised from 18 to 21?
I have one personal observation having been caught smack dab in middle of it in 95. Since the law change, there are far far fewer passed out teenagers in the FQ during Mardi Gras. Shamefully that was acceptable back in 90-92 to see a HS age kid passed out on a side street during Mardi Gras or along Perkins after St Pats parade.

I would be okay with giving special privileges to those who serve in the armed forces.
If you serve you can drink at 18.
If you serve you can drink at 18.

Along the lines of my idea about drinking in public at 21 and at home at 18, would be cool if bars all swiped IDs and your privilege to drink could be based on such things as prior drunken driving arrests or allowed to drink at 18 if active Armed Forces.

It should be, but 18 year old Americans are also dumbasses.

There were a ton of 18 year olds near Foucher on St. Charles. They were assholes and throwing beer bottles.

They shouldn't be able to vote either
fricking this. I wish they wouldn't let anyone who doesn't pay taxes and have a full time job vote. Besides, There is no conscription anymore so as soon as they all serve, they can drink.
21 year olds are annoying as frick when they drink. Can you imagine how bad 18-22 YOs would be? Hell I started drinking at 15. I know I was an annoying motherfricker at 18.
Hell I still am an annoying motherfricker.

I say raise the drinking AND voting age to 25

21 for everything:
Active duty military service ( you can still join at an earlier age).
Adult "entertainment" industry
Specialized license for vehicles
Voting
Etc.
Just my .02

Yes I think if at 18 you become a legal adult it should be all inclusive. You can already vote, go to war, be sentenced for crimes accordingly like other adults, enter into contractual agreements, etc.
