We are the first society in the history of humanity to have fat poor people.

We’ll, 4 people $939

That’s more than I currently spend on groceries.

I wonder why? No worries, the taxpayers will take care of it.

Everyone has been getting the full amount since 2020, and they are all still getting extra because of additional Covid supplements.

Chances are that will stop after mid term elections, or such is the rumor.

Probably not as much as something coming from the deli counter, but why should anyone care when most of us are paying for it.

Right. I'm going to get some shite for this, but snap or whatever food stamps shouldn't cover any and all snacks, drinks, or foods. It should cover basic foods that meet basic nutritional necessities. It is there as a stop gap, not a luxury.

Work ethic. We can't all live off the government.

Not expensive at all if you go to Sam's and get the 25 lb bags. We eat red beans and rice once a week. Sometimes twice if we feel like it. Bough those bags months ago and we've barely made a dent in it. Of course you have to have seasoning (not expensive) and sausage or tasso, or both or whatever you prefer.

And the best part is that when you buy groceries with SNAP, there is no sales tax added.

I always used to complain about these programs and the waste of money.

But this is the price we pay to keep the beasts in the fields and the dregs away from the gate.

If people ever had to rely on their own labors in this country, chaos would absolutely reign.

They get more than I can spend on my family of 5 a month.

The fact they can buy trash at convenience stores is a fleece.

The convenience store lobby is a machine with clout.

No. The real stroke is with the grocery lobby. Think Walmart and National Grocers Assoc.

Over 10%

fricking ridiculous.
Liberals are the reason for inflation.
Let them deal with consequences.
