Have you been to Macy’s at any mall
The discounts are unbelievable

I don't see how they can do that spot on Siegen without some serious upgrades to the roads. Traffic on Reiger in the afternoon and after a Bethany service is already insane.

I don't go to the mall very often anymore. Maybe a few times per year. I'm guilty of buying most of my clothes online.

Funny how "jeopardy" and federal money have a cohesive relationship.

I look forward to Gravy's column in his business known as The Rouge Collection and the positives he will find in this.

Dillards needs to realize that they need that Amazon money more than Amazon needs them.
They own a building in a dead mall that was permanently shuttered last fall, has no hope of reopening and Amazon is already opening up another facility on Siegen that is not tied to Cortana.
Dillards is going to be left holding their dicks in their hands while Amazon is in the wind if they don't get smart.

wonder who did the site survey for amazon and told them it was a good idea to build there?

What a bunch of dumbasses...Dillards....wants...to ...keep....a shitty.....discount......'store'....THERE?
Dillards are the dumbasses? They are keeping Amazon, a direct reason for losses they have endured the past 5-7 years from opening up a huge fulfillment center.
I'd say Dillards is going to make Amazon pay a steep price for that property. Well done move, giving the competitor the finger, on something they want.

Everyone in Baton Rouge who has not already stopped shopping at Dillards should stop now. They are screwing the town over. I would tell people to stop shopping there but I don't know anyone who does

They can buy cheap clothes at Marshall's right up the road. Anyone in NBR that's against closing/moving that store is a moron. The Amazon project would generate a lot of economic activity around there and potentially revitalize the whole area.

I don't know how ya'll save money going through the crap at Dillard's, I know ya'll have internet, do you not know how to use it for shopping???

I'm sure they will quickly get into arguments with the local government and realize that it's not worth dealing with before pulling out completely.
This is exactly how it went with the Buccees that was going to be built on the Millerville exit. Texas company used to dealing with honest and competent officials got a rude awakening with hayseed Louisiana politicians.
One of the biggest problem with Louisiana is local officials seeing business as a piggy bank to shake down and until that mindset is eliminated, the state's economy will be one of the worst in the country and will keep Louisiana a backwater state.

It's a clearance store so think $6 polos and $10 pairs of jeans. You just have to sift through piles and piles of shite to find anything decent.

Blow the Amazon deal over Dillard’s discount store that will be closed in a year.

The Siegen area location is not expected to be affected by what happens with the Cortana deal though.
The Siegen project is well underway. It isn’t like a government job.

This is on Dillard’s. We can’t blame this on Broome or JB yet.

I don't see how that place makes any money. There's never more than 10 cars in the parking lot.
They get insurance money for every item stolen

And what is a Dillards discount store?
Dillards at the malls here have high line items, like coach, kohrs, polo, gucci, etc. There ain't shite for $10

This is on Dillard’s.
I already acknowledged that in a previous post.
Dillards's business model is dying and they should take the money from Amazon pull out, and focus on their brick and mortar stores in locations that still have success which is clearly not a dead mall in the ghetto of Baton Rouge.
The Dillards at Cortana is going to shut down eventually, why not get paid to do so?
