Baton Rouge, LSU, private business, donors etc

should buy Tigerland and surrounding areas. Give more space for tailgating, more bars and businesses. Make the downtown area and campus more connected via Nicholson.

Add condos for rent for game day experiences down that stretch of Nicholson

The opportunities are there, but someone has to make the effort and investment.

Get the school back to focus on military, agriculture, and higher education in general.

Let the football team be mediocre. The cost of pursing nattys is too high. College football is stupid now, so let it go. We are talking about a public university in louisiana, a state in the bottom 3 of every meaningful metric there is.

Shift the focus to developing and retaining our best and brightest. The rest will follow. The school needs to get good at what a state university is supposed to be good at.

On plays inside the 5 yrd line, I would let our best running QB pr RB take a direct snap with a fullback in the backfield and have them run it in. Much like the Saints use Taysom Hill in that situation.

This.

Let guys go pro year 1, shift the team to focusing on STUDENT athletes, and catering the football experience as such.

Itll never happen though, too much money to be made.

Amen! LSU is, and should be, the flagship university. If you can't cut it straight out of high school, you need to attend one of the smaller surrounding universities or one of our many great community colleges (they're actually very good). Get your act together academically and then transfer in, if a degree from LSU is your goal.

That degree should mean something. LSU is not a charity program to make people feel good about themselves.

Bars? You think that makes things better based on the events around Baton Rouge over the last few years?

Includes intoxicated college kids who don't know how to behave in public.

LSU needs a culture change from top to bottom.

You have to be missing a chromosome. As has been repeatedly stated, it's public property. And 70% of the people that tailgate don't have either tickets or a student ID. I graduated 20+ years ago, you want my transcripts to be able to tailgate? What about my 11 year old? Does she get a pass? How many non LSU affiliated guests can each alum bring in?

You should work for the government, you're amazing at finding ways to screw things up.

Of course it is

Every person here know who and what the problem is .

Doesnt matter if it’s a cruise ship doesn’t matter if it’s a grocery store doesn’t matter if it’s a electronic store doesn’t matter if it’s on your nearest MLK Boulevard this is what their culture is ……..and the fact that it’s celebrated by blaring 62 rap songs in Tiger Stadium just makes it worse.

It’s pathetic. They don’t have to worry about ever getting another dollar from me.
We’ve pandered and catered the F out of them.
I’m done.

Nice stuff attracts the bad elements.

Chase out the bad elements and don't allow the types of establishments that encourage that shite.

i agree somewhat but the Football experience lots of high level students. Not to mention the amount of money football generates for the university. From a business perspective, the football team being good has an extreme ROI.

But its really not hard to fix the university

1) reimplement an updated master plan from the one Mark Emmert put in place 25 years ago

2) Start requiring test scores again

3) raise overall standards to where we only accept enough freshman that we have room for, period. No more accepting people because of color of skin, gender etc. Take the best, period while also restricting the number of international students way more than now, especially those from Muslim countries, India and China.

4) Focus on promoting STEM and business degrees. Get a couple of the programs ranked in the top 50 in the country

5) Promote Greek culture. The better students from the NE love that and want the big southern school experience. Promote white culture, hate to put it that away but its true. When it comes to the black frats, promote excellence within that. Do not promote "culture" in any way

6) On game day, shut down the campus come game time or only allow those through with parking passes along highland after a certain time. for Nicholson, i get it, cant shut that down completely but at game time, it should be contra flow only.

Long term get public/private investment to buy up from campus to I-10 along Highland and Nicholson and all the way to the lakes. Buy up Tigerland. Re-Develop the area from campus to I-10

you could have the university look completely different in a 5 year span and the whole city from the campus to I-10 look totally different in 10-15 very easily. Just take will power to not give in to pressure from liberal media and social media.

for Tigerland, not sure but you do not want to put apartments there because in 25 years will be the same situation. Figure something else out.
