Stick to your stories about blowing the LSU Rugby team in the back room of Tiger Bar

Not a hot take, it's just an ignorant one. Similar to being hipster and saying your not watching the Superbowl.

While most south Louisiana food is genuinely delicious, there are three things that are vastly over-rated: creole tomatoes, Hubig's Pies, and, yes, king cake.

Ignorant? For not liking a cinnamon roll type cake? Yeah, personal taste is simply ignorant.

People can eat what they like, and you can simply mind your own business.

Hipster for not watching the Super Bowl? Are you serious??? I'm as far from being a hipster, and I am not watching the Super Bowl. Why? I simply don't care anything about either team. Meh.

Oooo no sir. It's 2020. Check out a present day king cake menu. Something for everyone. You could probably get a weed king cake if you wanted. They could likely custom make you a baby back ribs king cake if you wanted.

Yeah, it may stretch tradition some, but the many options are pleasing.

Put me in the overrated crowd. The seasonality of it is why it's so popular, similar to egg nog or turkey.

You leave egg nog out of this. That is delicious elixir I could drink everyday....If it wasn't 800 calories for a pint.

Sir, I think you missed the point of my post. Go back and read the post which I replied to and my response.

I'm aware of all the options. I do love certain non-traditional king cakes from a few places, but I don't really care for the traditional cake. Adding fillings and fruits really doesn't do it for me if the cake isn't already worthy. It's normally a let down for me.

Weed king cakes sounds like the traahiest thing I have ever read on this board, btw.

I loved the mckenzie’s ones with the alternating white icing, purple, green, gold back in the day. Didn’t have the cinnamon roll taste.

I like the kind that are basically brioche with sugar on them. Hard to beat with a cup of coffee.
