Yes, they can't just move him away from the dad if he shares custody or has visitation rights.

Well, she has primary custody and the kid never sees his dad, ever. He doesn't even know his real dad. But, the guy still refuses to sign over his parental rights to another man.

He's only 22, and he's hesitant to get married, because he's not certain he wants to stay with her. The pregnancy was a surprise. That said, at this point I'm ready to tell him that he needs to get married for his daughters' sake and then if things don't work out he can always get divorced down the road.
