Most of life’s decisions have already been made countless times before. Observe and learn from others.
Best way to not let a wall fall on you is to learn from a person who had a wall fall on them - the great philosopher, my Dad.

No it’s normal
I think the ones that can’t self reflect or realize their mistakes have narcissistic tendencies or never accept blame for their mistakes.
I’m pretty hard on myself

You should strive to be unburdened by what has been...

It’s seems the older I get I find myself asking these questions.
The amount and level of dumbass decisions I used to make were 100 fold what they are in this era, so my bad decisions these days I barely bat an eye at.

Every experience in life bears results of some kind. The sum of your experiences is who and what you are right now. To change anything is to change who you are so unless you’re unhappy with yourself just learn to laugh at the mistakes.
Just reading this post, and any others too, will bring about who/what you are tomorrow.

Can I ask, am I the only person who makes dumb decisions about life, money, work, etc. and reflect “WTF was I thinking?” It’s seems the older I get I find myself asking these questions. Please wise OT posters shed some light on my dumbassery. Am I alone in these thoughts? I’d love to hear experiences and advice. I have too many to recount unfortunately.
No you aren’t alone. We all make bad decisions from time to time, and usually, when reflecting back on those, we wonder what made us do that? We can only learn from mistakes and try not to repeat them.

I’ve done other stupid things.
Nothing fatal.
Nothing fatal.

Everyone makes mistakes and everyone will dwell on at least some of those mistakes. The trick is to learn from the mistakes, stop obsessing on them once you believe you've learned from them and then put them behind you.

Yesterday is over
If you decide not to obsess over it, you’ll quickly find out that nobody else will either. Make today your best day and do it again tomorrow
The past is only what you allow it to be

The one that got away...
Chick in law school, had a modeling career, extremely smart, kind soul - I was an idiot and fricked it up.
She's a successful attorney now. We don't speak anymore
If it makes you feel better you probably weren't nearly as important to her as you think.
So I doubt she got away.

I'm sure she's fine.
Women recover from that stuff pretty quick.
She probably doesn't even remember you, let alone think that you're the one that got away

I actually enjoy a couple of mine. Maybe I came up short, but I enjoyed the effort.
