You get $1 per pound, per rep you do. You get one set.

What you doing?

I'd imagine a couple hundred thousand pounds at time...

I once did 350 squat reps with 85 lbs. 350 x 85 = $29,750.00.
Sore as hell for a few days.

50 pounds on the leg press machine. Do 'em one-legged, and trade legs when one gets tired.

lls I know is if you do 100 reps at 100lbs you will use half the energy of 50 50lb reps, plus get there faster.

Yes, really slow and measured. And after about 250 reps, the depth of the squats started tapering off. I was a high level, CAT-2 cyclist who lifted regularly. This was the off season, and me and a few other guys wanted to do a lift till you puke kind of thing.

Can you choose the exercise?

I'll do the leg press at a lower weight like 260 or 280.

Empty 45lb bar and do a ton of reps

For me that would be the only way. I assume we are talking about bench pressing. I could probably do 60 or 70 reps with that, but if I tried 135 pounds I could probably only do 20. If I tried 200 I could do about zero.

No matter what way I do the math I come out in the $3000 to $3400 range.

If you can do 135 20 times you can do 200.

If you can do 100 pushups then 100 reps of a bar should be easy. That's 4500 dollars compared to $3375 for 20 reps with 4 plates.

True but nobody cares if you can rep the bar 100 times

This ain't about vanity lifts it is about getting paid. More plates may mean more dates, but more cash means more gash.
