She may have come across one of those lice "superbug" strains that are super hard to get rid of it.

We had a couple of girls on the field hockey team at work that ended up with them and used a local company that specifically treats lice. They resorted to that after a ton of at home treatments from the comb, chemical, and "homemade" like mayonnaise. It'd probably be worth it for you at this point given how many times you've had to treat.

My daughter had it and my wife called her dr. He prescribed her Spinosad. It can be expensive but our insurance covered it. According to the instructions you don't have to comb but my wife did. After one treatment it was gone. Tell your wife to use tea tree oil shampoo. My wife uses lavender in our daughters hair and dries it because of the heat. Wash your sheets, blankets, pillows and vacuum the house.

I swear on everything use the blue listeren, even the dollar store brand. My kids caught lice once, and gave it to me, the first time I've ever had it. Fill up a spray bottle and spray the hair let it soak for a while and rinse. Do it everday/every other day. Eggs are the hardest to kill and they can take up to a week to hatch, that's why do it for a week.

Also use coconut scented shampoo as it will keep lice away from your hair.

When my kids were in elementary school there was an outbreak and they both got it over and over again.

We did all the stuff at Walgreens, home remedies, etc.

Finally we got the pediatrician to prescribe something - don't remember the name - that killed the eggs as well as the nits. That finally worked.

Your problem is that if all the infected students and teachers treat themselves but one, the cycle will probably start all over again.

If a bunch of people are infected, you may be dealing with this again in a few weeks. You may be in for a cycle of infection and treatment until spring break or summer break at this point.

Good luck - it's terrible and embarrassing but it doesn't have anything to do with cleanliness if you are in an environment like a classroom. All it takes is one infected person to spread it to everyone.

And now my head is itching. fricker.

It's all about getting rid of the knits once you've treated the hair. You can usually pull any loose bugs out at that time too. You need a good lice comb and a lot of patience. Obviously you need to wash everything and treat all the furniture (spray) at the same time.

Lice are attracted to clean hair. If you have kids in school it's best if they can skip a day between washing their hair, or if there is a lice outbreak at school, 2 days.

And failure to do this, among other things in treating home, is why many have difficulty getting rid (no pun) of them. They can't live that long without a host. I think it's like 48 hrs or so.

I've heard about this chick. She's literally a professional nit-picker.

Fortunately, my family has not needed her services.

From what I understand from having a 3 year old in day care, lice only like dirty oily hair. Congrats on the nasty wife that couldn't find a better job.
