I didn't say that, but if that's where his body was found it doesn't speak anything as to the time of death, I did a lot of research on this for school years ago, and there were several independent sources(research references,) that pointed to this, it's been a long time but I think the accounts were by scouts that were with him before the battle that either were not at the "Last Stand" due to continuing their mission or scouts present pre-battle from other regiments that were not at the battle, therefore survived to give an account, I just did the research, it's not a stand that I am taking

If the battle is going poorly, and my Colt 6 shooter had but one bullet left - and my choices were using that one bullet or getting scalped alive...... you know I'm gonna shoot you first.

Just so I'm reading this correctly, if things are going poorly and you have one bullet, you would shoot your buddy and let yourself be scalped alive?

Everything has to be a zero sum game. Either the Natives were pure and blameless, or the Whites were noble bringers of civilization. The truth couldn't possibly lie somewhere in the middle.
What happened in North America was simply the same thing that has always happened when a more technologically advanced culture meets a less advanced one. I watched an episode of history’s detectives which covered the battlefield using new ballistic evidence. It came to the conclusion there was no last stand, just an arse whooping. It was very interesting if you can find it online somewhere.
