I hated cats or dogs all of my life until I had children. To see how much love my kids give to their animals my view has changed big time. It’s unbelievable to see the love my kids have for their animals.

Living things have energy. We are always in a state of transferring energy. Consuming, creating, sharing.
Think of it like planets orbiting a sun, and moons orbiting a planet. Pulled into each other’s gravity, we spend a brief blip in the cosmic eon sharing energy with others in this realm, and eventually we are pulled out of orbit and move on to another energy.
We burn up, crash, become star stuff.
Some orbits are long, some are short. Some remembered and some forgotten. So if you think back and smile at a memory of a pet you had, that means that the energy that bonded you still exists on some plane, like gossamer strands.
Be thankful that you were able to share in that positive energy. They can’t take that away.

If given a choice to take my chances in the afterlife with my beloved dogs or all you degenerates, I’m taking the dogs every time. And yes ,I believe animals have souls and anybody who lets an animal suffer is a dick.
