Lots of people never register their car in Louisiana because they have stupid tax laws and it’s too expensive.

You might be.

Have you seen some of the vehicles on the freeways and loops? No way they passed any real inspection.

I sometimes wonder if the plates are counterfeit.

Work in Texas, live in Louisiana. Avoid Texas property tax and Louisiana income tax.

Still have to pay Louisiana income tax on income made outside of the state if you are a resident of Louisiana.

And they suck as drivers. Every Jack hole in the left lane holding up traffic seems to have a Texas plate. They refuse to move out of the left lane and at times, it seems like Texas has annexed Southern Louisiana.

i'm not here to defend Texas drivers, since literally nothing about one's state of residence has any impact on their ability to drive, but this post is almost quantifiably untrue. 99.9% of jackholes holding up traffic in the left lane in Louisiana are black people driving Nissans with Louisiana plates.

Lol it’s on the back of the car.

I’ll never understand why people leave these stickers and license plate brackets on

They’re paper Texas plates issued to illegals and poors that buy cars for cash in the Nola area. Most are uninsured and it’s a scam throughout the area. I suspect some law enforcement/ state insurance officials are in on the scam. They’re everywhere

No one can make me believe all of the folks with Texas plates just moved here. There is some type of scam going on.

It’s the Hispanics. They all do it and none have residence or legal status there

I know Texas doesn’t have car inspections so is that a possibility for this?

Texans have always loved Louisiana. They all want to move there and live there so bad because it’s such a beautiful and well run state.

Little crime and it’s the home of the LSU Tigers. I can’t blame them!

Maybe 10 years ago. I have driven 200k miles the last 6 years probably 80% in texas. From interstates to dirt roads. Its not like it used to be.

You really think people will be keeping a residence in Texas just so they can get a license plate so they don't have to get their car inspected while living in Louisiana? LOL!

Met a guy at a WMA last year that keeps his primary residency in South Dakota pretty much just for the cheaper insurance.

Husband works in Houston and leases apartment there. We purchased and registered both vehicles in Texas. Didn’t pay the 9.95 percent sales tax that is what our zip calls for. He has front plant and I don’t. I was told by dealer it was a 10 dollar ticket for no front plate. I’m mostly in LA anyhow and I doubt they can write that ticket. The dealer refused to drill into my front bumper anyways and I guess factory doesn’t put the brackets themselves. It’s worked out with no problems so far.

Holy shite this. I've lived all over the US and I've never witnessed this phenomenon anywhere else. Truly maddening.

Interesting you notice this, bc I’ve also noticed a huge uptick in Texas plates. I figured the illegals are being given cars. Mostly seems to be Nissans and pick up trucks. Alot of Florida plates, too.
