Didn’t see one fried chicken joint in Oregon. Spend a lot of time in Montana and they are extremely sparse there too, more so than any other fast food joints.

Kwik Trip and Fleet Farm.

There’s really no equivalent to a Fleet Farm down here.

I have a culvers in my small town. Overrated (or maybe they dont do it right here). They are pretty much the last burger place i would choose (and we have about 20 choices for burgers).

It is north of Boston near the coast in a town called Peabody. The first time I saw it I stopped and took a picture... with a flip phone. I bought some shirts and other merch to give as X-mas gifts that year. I haven't seen my shirt in years. The only time in my life I have ever been into a liquor store and not bought any alcohol.

Good public schools.

Also Culver’s. It’s bland AF.

Cod sandwich? Walleye? Cheese curds? Pot roast? George’s chili? Potato soup? Culver’s root beer?
Our’s kills it, especially during Lent, but I’d trade it all for fresh oysters, shrimp, crawfish, & seafood. We all have our crosses to bear.

College prep/boarding schools. They exist in the South but the industry is vastly different. Deerfield Academy has an endowment of half a billion dollars. Phillips Exeter's endowment is over $1 billion.

According to this top 50 list of most elite US boarding schools from Business Insider LINK, if you exclude Virginia there's only one in the Deep South (Indian Springs School, AL) and two in Texas (The Hockaday School in Dallas and St Stephen's Episcopal in Austin).

I can't throw a rock in a bar without hitting a wrangler, whether it's for a dude ranch or a cattle ranch. I guess they exist in Texas, but I'd never met any real cowboys before moving to MT.

Not exactly what the OP is looking for but there is a state road in PA that follows the Susquehanna river and I swear there is a porn store of some sort every couple of miles for over an hour of travel time. Every one of them made the one in Port Allen beside the McDonalds look clean and classy from the outside. I couldn't imagine what kept them all in business nor who would think of going into one of them.
