Bring your OT checkbook if you want in 1100 Annunciation. Its going to be very nice.
This brings up a very interesting point, where in the hell is the money coming from? All of these high priced developments, yet, where are the folks working to afford these places? It's not like the city is crawling with companies paying out large salaries. You have a handful of exploration and production companies left, and then folks in the medical field. What am I missing?

So behind the Mill?
if you're referring to the river side of the Cotton Mill, yes...in between Annunciation Restaurant and the high rise

Had no idea this project was out there for the old Trade Center building.
Every time I walk by there I think "what a waste of prime real estate".
Hope it moves along.
The WTC case is being moved to bankruptcy court in Florida so he can litigated the matter there for an extended period of time. I suspect the power players behind this lawsuit will delay this project by another 1-2 years which is when Hilton will announce a grand expansion thus cratering the financing for the WTC deal.

The balcony tax is going to be enormous.

Well, that sucks.
Something needs to happen there. Its too good of a spot to let waste away.

I know several people who are senior level executives (CEO/Presidents/COO/CFO/etc) for a number of major companies which are located outside of Louisiana but who live in New Orleans full-time and just fly to Dallas/Atlanta/Memphis/etc.
You are also missing the Port (we do have one of the largest ports in the world) and the legal industry. The loss of the film jobs did hurt quite a bit though but the film productions shot in New Orleans also attracted a lot of people who wanted a second home here thanks to the free TV/Movie exposure over the last ten years.

The something is the World Trade Center/City of New Orleans just need to sell the property instead of trying to control the property through a 99 year lease.

Lots of out of state rich people are buying properties as 2nd homes or for their retirement. And as mentioned before, more higher up executives like to live in Nola and just do the jet commute when needed.
The WTC deal just pisses me off. Those fckers who are holding this up have no basis for what they are doing.

Out of town. You would be surprised at the number of people from the west coast and Midwest that have vacation condos in New Orleans.

Fair enough, but is that really sustainable? I'm not poo-pooing it by any means, but it just seems that the market is getting oversaturated. It would be nice if somehow these developments would lead to greater economic development for the area as a whole.

I wish New Orleans could get a new high rise. I remember when the Trump Tower was proposed:

Tear it down. That's about all you can do. The entire think is ate up with mold and crap.

I'm hoping like hell that oil comes back soon and the boom with it.
I heard on the radio yesterday that Nola has the fastest growing tech start up type of shitnin the country right now. Maybe that will lead to some bigger companies coming

Trump needs to build his tower once he gets the economy roaring again.

What I see all over the city are start up IT companies. Not wing and a prayer start ups, but new companies started by people that cashed out of established IT companies.
And breweries, you cant sling a dead cat without hitting one, lot of good beer coming out of NOLA.

The state, paid off by the global breweries and the restaurant industry, is about to kill that off.
