Probably a bear since they are much bigger and the males fight regularly for territory. I'm not sure, but I think tigers hunt game smaller than them but don't regularly fight animals their size or bigger. I don't think the tiger would want anything to do with a bear.

Bear. The tiger is not going to go toe to toe. Tigers are more like ninjas. The tiger will attempt to pounce and attack from stealth but if that fails the tiger will peace out.

Tiger wins in every scenario, with the exception of an open battle field. if the two meet head on in open field, no surprise, bear wins 4 out of 7 times.

We did this recently. If the bear is a full grown male kodiak or polar bear, the tiger is fricked. And why would we not compare the biggest and baddest specimen of each species?
I'm not sure where this perception of bears being slow comes from. They can run over 30mph. They are extremely athletic and are unquestionably the alpha land predator on this planet.

Grizzly weighs 1200 pounds and the biggest tiger is 680. Both have equivalent jaw strength at bout 1000 psi. I think the griz would win because of shear size.

Yeah, but a black bear is much smaller and not nearly as strong as a grizzly. A tiger would get its arse handed to him by a grizzly and it would be pretty quick.

Also, animals and shite can survive a hurricane.... so I don't agree with the U advancing that far...

Big cats have relatively weak bite force and their claws are primarily meant to cling to prey. Watch the videos of lions trying to take on hippos. A grizzly or polar bear is too furry and fatty for the Tiger to do any real damage

Guess it depends on the type Tiger and Bear.
I watched something on Animal Planet some years back where a Siberian Tiger killed a Brown bear that was bigger in Russia I believe.

If it is a Kodiak bear then the bear wins. Bear has greater stamina over a Tiger.
They use to have pit fighting in California with bear vs African lion matchups. The bear won almost every time that betting became so poor they eliminated this matchup. One swipe from the bear paw completely shatters the lion’s shoulder. Fight is over after one hit.

I think this will be the closest we will ever see. Tiger vs Sloth bear. This bear is smaller than the tiger and puts up a decent fight.

I suck at posting links so maybe someone could help on this one. They have pictures of a liger named Hercules. Half tiger, half lion. That sob is just about the size of a grizzly. Now that would be a good fight.
