I am a Trump supporter and a conservative, but there are a bunch of Trump supporters that are making the ignorant left and party first Dem clowns look like Einsteins by pushing anything controlled by communist China as a free speech absolutist.
China allows what helps China and doesn’t allow what hurts China. It lined up with Trump in 2024 just like it lined up with Biden in 2020. It will change again multiple times in the future. Don’t sell your soul for communist China. It’s wrong and absolutely ignorant.
A major underlying purpose is division.
Think about it TikTok has been able to divide tOT denizens within their own brains. When TikTok came up in the past not related to the current sale or banning tOT upvoted the hell out of banning it now that it might be banned it is in favor of keeping it around. If they can make individuals flip flop they can certainly divide a nation.

Seems more people in this thread are for banning it vs not doing so.
Personally, I’ve never been on TT so no idea what it is/does but the govt getting involved tells me they are losing the battle and need to act.

Explain, please? I don’t do TT. I’ve gotten recipes bc I asked for a couple of recipes and was sent a TT link. I don’t understand the hype when as another posted all of the data breaches we already have plus what I said.

very scary the USSC was unanimous in decision on this.
Their ruling had little to do with Tik Tok. It had to do with how we pass laws, and they voted 9-0 that the right process to create law was followed.

Don't worry all you gotta do is go to Instagram or YouTube video shorts

TikTok pays and Brad Hawpe sprays.
Feel better.
TikTok evidently pays the content creators a lot more than the other platforms. Chick are getting paid for the crying videos explaining how much they regret settling for guys they didn’t really like.

IG, YouTube, and facebook all do the same thing. I don’t understand why everyone is so butthurt over TikTok

If anything we need to give the Chinese Communist Party more control over our media. Our government is terrible, the communists are the good guys. Really smart posters are saying it’s over and over on the message boards.

It is simply the best thing in the moment that learned to control/build the algorithms to addict people at the same time fueling the “creators”. All good if that wasn’t being used for subversive purposes by a communist nation.
Collecting data in ways that give more power than ever to a communist nation over people, addicted people, that spend more time there than with family.
Meanwhile the Chinese version of Tik Tok , Douyin, only available in China, allows them to push government messaging and subvert non patriotic themes.
India, Pakistan and others banned Tik Tok some time ago. Most modern countries banned it from government phones.
It isn’t a question of whether they are using it for bad intentions or not. It’s only a question of whether the addicts give a shite.

Dude thought he was cooking with one
This ban is hilariously stupid

They 100% do not do the same thing.
It seems the people who are in favor of banning it have never used it and don't actually understand that it's not "jUsT a dAnCiNg" app.
There's content for literally anything you're interested in and it's delivered in an enjoyable format and is incredibly easy to use.
The reason the US govt banned it is because they can't control the content. So much information, news and political opinions were being shared there that main stream media would brush under the rug. It's also basically the OT on steroids when it comes to hearing news before anyone else, let alone uncovering information.
It's not dividing us, it was actually opening people's eyes to what actually is dividing us, which is our own piece of shite government.

Most people commenting on this, I’m pretty sure they haven’t used it. Government says it’s bad and that they have our best interest in mind, so it must be true. The government wouldn’t lie.

I was coming to say the same those other sites are not the same and don't present the same at all.
I like the comparison to the OT. That's perfect.

I know people in tech who are deep into the details of this TikTok ban. The issue is around privacy laws. The Chinese government has a stake in all Chinese companies and can request/access data on all users without a warrant.
Enough of y’all have an issue with the Patriot act, but are ok with China spying on US citizens so you can watch Livy’s latest vids?
