What's odd though is they say that it's to discourage card counting but you will NEVER see one at the higher limit tables where card counters would most likely be found.
The bigger reason casinos use them is they can grind out more hands per hour with continuous shufflers and this works better for them on the lower limit tables where their take will be lower than the higher limits.
But that still doesn't change the fact that they're bad for a good player.

I felt like a winner when I got back home and didn't have an STD.

I'm not a big gambler, maybe a few hundred, possibly a grand, but I have a friend that is the perfect gambler, lucky, and good. The most I've seen her win at one time was $75k, playing slots. Not unusual to see her win anywhere from 5-12k a night playing blackjack. I've never seen her get her arse handed to her, although I'm sure there have been nights when she's lost. Leaving the Horseshoe one morning, after gambling(and winning a few grand,) most of the night, her husband bought her 3 $100 tokens for that big slot that looked like a huge gas pump as you're exiting the casino. One pull, 14k. I love to watch her play. never counts her money, and doesn't play with scared money.

Nice. I was at the old O'Shea's in Vegas a few years back (RIP) and some guy won the progressive on a table for just over 100k.
O'Shea's is still there
But it's clean and boring now

For my 21st birthday, my dad took me to Vegas and we played the don't on the craps tables and I came home with $600. That is by far the most I have ever won, but I really haven't been into gambling all that much since then.
Once in college in 1998 I went to the Inn of the Mountain gods in Ruidoso, New Mexico. At the time they had $1.00 as the minimum bet on craps, and I was down to my very last dollar. I carelessly put it on a "yo" bet and it hit, then I went on a pretty hot run and walked away from the table with $150, less the $50 that I bought in for.

I've won 1500 a couple times in the year I've been going. Not bad considering the only thing I play is 5 dollar craps tables. Talk about be there all night

My cousin is a professional poker player and has been for a long time now. He hit a progressive pot once that was at $118K. It was split with everyone playing at that time but he took home right at $80K of it before taxes.
One of my best friends won 35k in a bad beat jackpot and then the very next week won like 23k at a WSOP satellite event. He went in on Monday and quit his job, he is trying to be a full-time poker player.

Around $1,200 and it was my buddy's 21st birthday. Got completely shite face drunk and spent almost every bit of it at the strip club that night. Young and foolish.

Won $3k on the LSU/TCU game last year at a Vegas Sportsbook. My best craps run was about the same.

Guess all those $20 blackjack hands I lose have to go somewhere
That's my biggest problem in blackjack. When you have those hands against the dealer where statistically you are supposed to surrender. I never surrender, doesn't ever work out for me

6800 - Craps. All of it on one shooter. Me. Most fun I've ever had in a casino.

and he just lost around 10k at the WSOP so we will see how it works out for him!
My cousin doesn't play WSOP events. He says the buy ins are a waste. He sticks to traveling around to Casinos with poker rooms and private games.
He was at a private game in Houston about 5 years ago and some masked men broke in and robbed them all. Tied them up and shite just like you see on movies. He's a lot more selective about what private games he plays at now.
