Yep, I'm hearing that. Spann paused a long time. HE seemed almost unsettled by that. Very dangerous. I hope noone is killed or injured. Imagine if there was a game being held there.

Fox 6 in Birmingham is showing Mitch Smith Chevrolet in Cullman.

All the cars are totally fricked. Baseball sized hail on all the cars.

Back windows, windshields, sunroofs all blown out, huge dents all over the cars.

What dynamic makes the tornadic storms train like that, with one right after the other? I would think the lead storms would dissipate some of the energy.

The one positive is that it has been overcast around Atlanta all day and temps have been around 60. I hope that makes the atmosphere a little more stable here

Did any tornadoes touch down?

Or is this a big circle jerk?

It's not entirely uncommon when you have enough ingredients, what is uncommon is them sustaining for so long. Usually one dies, then another comes, etc.

Glen Burns just said what I finished saying to a coworker 10 mins ago... Storms of this size don't usually make it into ATL Metro unless they are moving in the direction these supercells are. Last one I remember was the tornado that hit downtown ATL.

There's been nothing to cut off the moist warm air pulling in from the south. So the updrafts keep pulling in warm moist air that sustains the storms. The rotation of the updrafts acts to basically dump the cooled air north and away from the storms.

So they basically have a fresh energy feed to keep pulling in from.
