Wasn’t able to follow the thread while we were hunkered down. That was some real weather.

West of Lake Pontchartrain and north east of Lake Manchac seems to have something to do with it. Started working in Ponchatoula 4 years ago and definitely see more severe weather there than I did growing up in NOLA

But we don't get tornadoes. Its weird it is pretty rare that we get a tornado in the Ponchatoula area. They always get them in Amite, Kentwood and south Miss.

It is rolling through Ponchy now. I can't remember the last time I have seen it this dark during the daytime.

I left the house in Albany at 745 to go into the office in downtown BR for a little while. I thought I'd beat the line to BR, but I had to pull over at Denham under the Juban overpass because it got so bad. shite was apocalyptically insane. That's the last time I'll attempt to drive through something like that.

I think they say taking shelter underneath an overpass is about the worst thing you can do in the event of a tornado.

It's a wind tunnel practically. It's not a bad spot if it's just to get out the rain and potential hail (not an issue today though, column too warm).

Parade was cancelled
The plan for the festival is to start at 4pm if the weather goes as predicted.
